they have a chance but HP has been destroying every one it seems like forney has really gotten it together the past two weeks too bad they couldn't have earlier

Forney - 17 West Mesquite - 13

MESQUITE – Quarterback Landon Hartwick had season highs of 219 yards and two touchdowns as Forney rallied in the third quarter to defeat West Mesquite at Memorial Stadium.
Forney (3-6, 2-2 in District 11-4A) opened the game with some trickery, scoring on a flea-flicker on the game's third play from scrimmage as Hartwick hit Tyler Monroe for a 36-yard touchdown.
After a West Mesquite punt, Forney went 68 yards in ten plays with Thomas Moreland capping the drive with a 39-yard field goal to give Forney a 10-0 lead.
But West Mesquite rallied in the second quarter behind Roderick Smith, who had scoring runs of 1- and 21-yards to take a 13-10 halftime lead.
Forney regained the lead on its first possession of the second half when Bobby Lind got separation on a defender and caught a Hardwick bomb for a 50-yard score.
West Mesquite (5-4, 1-3), who was eliminated from playoff contention, was held to a punt and twice turned the ball over on downs the remainder of the game. Smith finished with 118 yards on 33 carries.
Forney remains in the playoff hunt but hosts undefeated Highland Park (8-0) next Friday night.
