In the history of Cardinal football, Bridge City has never finished a season undefeated. This includes the state championship team in 66 which lost to Nederland in the second game. 1965 was the closest they came to a undefeated season. They tied West Orange 20-20 but advanced on pentrations 7-3 to make it to the playoffs. Hopefully West Orange Stark won't spoil it this year as well.

I'm betting they will (spoil it, that is).

It will be an uphill climb that is for sure. WOS is mighty strong this year, but BC is by no means a slouch, so it should be interesting.

Better beat Hamshire Fannett first. I'm not kidding, they are not a bad team. BC might blow them out but it will surprise me if it is not a close game!!

I'm not positive, but I think they may have been undefeated when Sinton met up with them in the semi's back in 2001.

Nope, they lost to Vidor in OT and got beat handily by Newton that year.

I don't know of many teams who have accomplished this feat. I know the 1983 Dangerfield team was probably the best 3A team ever who did it. I don't even believed they got scored on ALL YEAR. That is just crazy to me.

there have been several teams to go undefeated.... the Dangerfield team had 8 points scored on them all year... and none in the playoffs

Didn't BC miss a few games this year due to Hurricanes.

Yes, they missed two. The Jasper game is the only one they might have lost. I really don't think they would have lost to Jasper, but the Bulldogs are playing by their stats much better ball now.

One stat for sure, in the turnover department...

I don't think this year should count then. :D

I definently see your point. However, if this games never existed which they didn't, I still think it is a major achievement. However, they do still have a large hill to climb in the last two games. I think HF will have their "A" game on to play them as well.

We may have to put an asterick by the season if they do remain undefeated. Kinda like the Barry Bonds records, without the dope.
