Please don't include state finalist or district champs; things of that nature. You either won or you didn't. I was just curious to see how many teams have won them. Please list the score, the year and who they played.

Bridge City - 1 state championship - 1966

Bridge City 30 McKinney 06

Tomball had a couple of good years back then. Sweetwater must have had one heck of a team.

Bill Bradley who played at UT was the quarterback of that team. They won one game (I think the semi-finals) on the last play of the game when Bradley threw a 10 yard td pass on the last play to win it (they were trailing by 4 points I think). He became a good defensive halfback at UT after trying out at qb and then had a successful pro football career with Philadelphia mostly as defensive back. I think he now coaches at Baylor as an assistant coach. He was very smart and probably a good coach. An indication of his intelligence and alertness was obvious when after his senior year he played in the Texas vs Pensylvania High School All Star Game the Texas coach Bobby Layne was showing a play to the defense. He said that since the PA coach was right handed when he showed the play to the players he would probably have them running it to the right. Bradley said "Coach, isn't their coach called Lefty?" Layne almost dropped his chalk. lol

Ingleside doesn't have any titles, but we went in '62 and '64 when were Class A. Got blown out by Rotan the first go-round and lost a close one to Archer City in round two. If it's any consolation, I believe we have two state titles in track.

Wylie (as is obvious in my sig) in 2004 over Cuero in football
- 1990 in girls basketball
- Girls track somewhere in the mid-late 90's
- Boys track 2001
- Team Tennis in 2002, 2004 (finalists every year since 2000)
- Individual Tennis...I dont know the exact count but since Wylie started a tennis program in '95 or '96 it is something like 6 or 7 state titles
- Golf...a few in boys and girls in team to go along with a few individual winners as well. They each advanced to state so many years in a row that I forget the years they won

I remember that... All of us on the team were looking forward to Mathis... We had beaten Mathis 67-20 two seasons before in the 3rd round and were kinda lookin' forward to the 2nd edition... We watched Burnet on film all week and we almost laughed... sorry to say Burnet got the last laugh, 24-12 Burnet in Bastrop, 2nd round D1, Bastrop, TX my junior year.... UGHH!
