Just watched this movie on Espn Classic. I had never seen it before. Pretty good football movie. The film was one of the "sentimental tear jerkers" of the late 70's.
The movie is based on the true story about the relationship between Penn State football player John Cappelletti and his younger brother Joey, who has lukemia. Joey hangs out with John in the Penn State locker room, and inspires him to be the top college football player in the country. John wins the 73 Heisman Trophy and gives a Jim Valvano type speech at his acceptance ceremony and gives the trophy to Joey.
