I believe it might depend on the context in which you heard the word used. According to what I find, it means: 1) point, 2) tip, 3) top, 4) stub, 5) small nail, 6) (zoology) horn.

just saw Punta Gorda, Florida on the tv this morning. I thought surely there is no fat bit&* Florida

I believe you are confusing the word "punta" with "puta". But then again I am a gringo so I may be wrong.

Punta Gorda would mean Fat Point.

Anyone know what the word "vergallos" means. Beck uses it in his song "que onda guero". My wife has never heard of it and says it must be slang.

I've never heard of it either, but if you break it down: "ver" means to consider, deem, look, look at or regard and "gallos" means rooster or :eek: another four letter word for rooster :evillaugh .... so....

I believe the word refers to that part of the male anatomy of which we men are most proud of and, according to some women, we make a lot of our decisions with.
