BleedGreen said Iowa Park is the toughest team they have played this year. IP is doing a good job of stopping the run.

Both Kennedale TD's were made in 3 plays.

Prolly Kennedale with 7. Iowa Park didnt have much of a kicker.

I guess I just wrote the initial score down backwards, because IP does have 7. Thank goodness my brain knew what my pencil didn't!!

Just got back from the game. The entire IP following was huddled around the injured QB Justin Swenson. I didn't see the play but it was 4th and long with about 1 minute to go in the game. One of our players said he was sandwiched high from the front and low from the back just as he released the ball. He laid on the field for several minutes. One of IP's linemen started pushing players around and was ejected. I hate for an injury to end a game and season like that.
Iowa Park was the best defense we have played all year. Their line (both ways) took us out. They gound out their touchdowns consuming huge amounts of time. #13 Brian Love, #5 Chase Burgher and #4 Justin Swenson were hard running backs that ran through our tackles time and time again.
On Kennedale's side, it was a heavy dose of Rex Harper. He was stuffed on the majority of runs but when he broke free, no one could catch him. Here's a recap:
1st Period.....Kennedale scores on 3 plays from their own 25. IP scores in 8 plays from their own 19. 2nd Period....Kennedale inttercepts on 8th IP play at Kennedale's own 10. Kennedale scores in 3 plays...Rex Harper had a 55 pass TD(K-14 IP7) 3rd Period.....Kennedale intercepts around IP20 for TD (K20 IP7) IP runs 14 plays for TD (K-20 IP14) Kennedale runs 2 plays TD (K26 IP14) 4th Period....IP runs 14 plays from their own 25 for TD (K26 IP21) Kennedale takes 2:40 to score the final TD in 7 plays. I think the turning point was the int TD in the 3rd period.

Sounded like a great game. I listened to it on the radio until half. Then my Vernon boys played at 7:30 and brought about a rematch with Sweetwater!
