If you asked all the sportsfans in Texas--"What is the biggest, best-known, and keenest intra-Texas sports event?"---What would the majority answer be?

I say the UT-aTm football game.

I'd have to agree with UT/A&M.

I have to disagree with the silver boot, not much history there. I do enjoy watching the Rangers and Stros but I have to say the greatest Texas sport event would be UT/aTm game.

Definitely UT/A&M. There's so much more emotion in college than in the pros.

Obviously those who have posted so far are interpreting the thread to be concerning Texas only teams otherwise the thread would certainly be stained with the letters OU.

SFASU and SHSU don't come close to UT and A&M, but it is a big regional rivalry.

I think so many Texas fans now would say OU, because after the bonfire tragedy, alot of the hatred between the 2 school dissipated. My first to years at Texas it was definitely A&M, my third year was when the tragedy occured, and after that, that hatred for A&M really wasn't there anymore, and pretty much shifted to OU. Just a Texas Ex's perspective on that.

Very good point...it was hard to hate on either side with the outpouring of support that the Aggies recieved from Austin. Also....A&M hasn't been playing well of late (unlike UT) which has taken some of the luster off of the series in the past 4-5 years.
