For next year here is an early outlook on the Bulldogs..

Quarterback: senior Neiman Busch will get first crack at the QB more than likely..but senior Marcus Mendez and junior Brandon Brown also will be in the mix..Busch is the better runner, Mendez throws the ball better and Brown is a combination of both..I think Brown will win the job..there is a kid that will be a freshman next year who from all reports is a stud and could see some time next year on varsity also..

Running Backs: Losing Miller and Jennings will hurt but running back has never been a problem for Everman...Glen Burns and Robert Moore were both impressive in backup roles this year..the seniors to be will get first crack..junior to be Tony Allen was impressive in limited varsity action averaging over 5 yards per carry..2 other backs that will be juniors..Marcus Jamison and Derrick Bedford both tore it up on JV and they'll be in the mix..

Wide Recievers/Tight Ends: Tim Jackson who will be a junior will be the go to guy..he started to step up at the end of the year and will be the main reciever...after that the WR slot is wide open..Tight End will likely be a combo between Craig Boatwright and Anthony Spoon..Spoon has the physical tools at 6'6 230 but he needs to get touger.Boatwright will be used mostly for blocking..

Offensive Line: 2 starters return in 340 lb Omarion Bradoford and 240 lb junior to be Jontae Bragg..junior to be Mike Jones would have been a starter on the Varsity as a sophmore but he tore his knee up during 2 a days..if he returns full speed the line will be strong again..sophmore to be Terrion Lockridge saw time in the playoffs as a freshman and should be in the mix as well...Lockridge goes about 260...he'll be a beast when he matures

Defensive Line: Brian Jones returns for his 4th varsity season and will anchor the line..Craig Boatwright likely will start at one end and look for sophmore to be Lawrenece Alexander to be the other end..this kid will be a stud..the only question is who will be the other D Tackle? Bragg will see time there but he'll be needed on offense..

Linebackers: another question mark only junior to be Shamarcus Halloway returns as a starter..the other 2 slots are wide open..Halloway will be an all-state candidate next year however..

Defensive Backs: Junior to be Jeremy Cole returns at safety..after than things are up in the air as well...Busch if he doesn't play QB will be back there as he started 4 games this year..

Overall Everman may struggle some especially early....the defense loses a lot but the past 2 seasons we have said that and every year they have stepped it up..Everman is blessed with a lot of great athletes and a very good staff that utilizes their physical tools and gets them in the right places...so I think the D will be fine..QB is the big question mark in my opinion..someone will need to seperate themselves from the pack and hopefully develop some sort of passing threat to keep defenses honest...

Some teams have to rebuild. Some teams have to reload. Everman just retakes the field! Sounds like they will be the top dogs again next year-and deservedly so. Good luck!

Crud...sometimes life just isn't fair...We get a division I caliber skill player about once every 20 to 25 years. If our line averages more than 200 pounds, then we are huge by Ballinger standards. Our defensive backfield probably averages about a 4.8 forty :(
Oh well...nobody said that life is supposed to be fair
