Kirbyville leads early in the game 7-0.... I just turned the game on (it's at KJAS.com for anyone interested), so I'm not sure how K'ville scored. Jasper has responded, and is driving the ball down the field. About 6:00 left in the first quarter.

Just like that, Jasper scores on an 18 yard run. Jasper goes for 2 and it's good!

Still think Jasper wins this one. They have to much overall team speed.

Jasper should. It seems like there is a SERIOUS lack of defense in this one

GS#17

Jasper kicks off out of bounds, then attempts an on-side kick, which is recovered by K'ville. K'ville drives down the field, but penalties and the Jasper defense turn them away.

Halftime: Jasper 29, K'ville 13

I have to sign off.... I hate it, too. Looks like it's going to be a great finish.

K'ville gets the ball to start the 2nd half and goes 3 and out. The ball is snapped over the punter's head and he tries to kick the ball out the back of the endzone. He only made it into the endzone and Jasper recovers for a TD!!!

2 point conversion is good.

That's the second big play Jasper's given up for a score. They've got to stop that. Other than that, they are controlling the game. Gotta keep K'ville away from the big play.

Jasper has a new QB in for a few plays but T-Ray is back in.

Wide open receiver drops a pass and Jasper has to punt.

K'ville ball with 1:29 to go in the 3rd.

K'ville has started moving the ball for the 1st time since the 1st quarter.

Jasper's offense has finally come alive and is moving the football. Clock continues to run.

Jasper gets a long run down to the 29 yardline.

1st down to the 13 yardline. Clock running...

K'ville scored on 3 plays of 50+ yards. They've got to cut out the big plays on defense. Other than that, they looked pretty good.

FINAL

LOL... I have to admit that OC has mastered the complimentary insult. Like that little old lady that can look at the proud mother of a newborn baby and say, "Oh my, isn't he cute...looks just like a little cockroach"...Well, thanks...I guess.

We won. We scored 52 points and he can't believe Kirbyville scored 21. 28 to WO-S, 32 to PN-G, 39 to Central, 35 to Newton and even 20 to Buna. He can't believe Kirbyville scored 21. I love it.

Why would that be hard to believe? We are a .500 ballclub. We are 3-3. We aren't in anyone's polls. Even you, the guru of SE Texas, don't list us among YOUR could-be-winners of D-II in Reg. III with the likes of BC. So why would giving up 3 or 4 touchdowns to Kirbyville be hard to believe?

We are just an average team...3-3. Nothing for anyone to be alarmed about at all.

Now Huper that was a compliment to both teams. Kirbyville-- to show a little offense and Jasper because that post said in affect that KV should be commended for being able to score on their(Jasper) first team and keep it a ballgame for quite a while.
I have not ragged Jasper for their thusfar seasons performance and I know with the huge enrollment they will be able to play well in Division II on built-in depth, via size, alone.
The only thing I would say that is negative at this point is that Jasper has displayed a porous defense and unless they can tighten it up the Bs you mention and others may exploit that situation in the playoffs. This is just opinions on logic, I don't really care who wins your District.

Again congratulation on the win against the Wildcats.

Thank goodness for our huge enrollment we are 3-3 and will be lucky and honored to meet up with the likes of BC in the playoffs. Although I am sure we will get routed as all the polls indicate, but it will be a good experience for our town and players to have such an honor to play the low enrollment over-achievers of BC as the Cardinals move forward to a probably D-II state championship if they can get by Bellville or BH.

A little sarcasim, but it's all good. I really don't think anyone is bagging on Jasper here. Jasper has a fine club and I congradulate them on their win. I think some folks just pointed out the obvious of how Jasper's defense performed. Bridge City may not be the 3A D-II champs, but they have a good ball club and have the ability to compete with anyone in the state. Stop hating.

I was at the game and saw how Jasper's defense performed. We are doomed if we play BC for sure in spite of our larger enrollment numbers.

As far as sarcasm is concerned..some people respond to OC with outrage, others with anger, some with pity, some with humor..I prefer the wonderful art of sarcasm.

Got to give them some leeway, beating Jasper last year was their football highlight of the decade for them. The made a nice showing in the playoffs afterwards.

Our "D" is fine we just dont have the depth that we had last year. Most of our starting offence is also our starting "D". I am most impressed with our lack of turnovers (knock on wood) T-ray has done a better job at qb than moye he reads the defence and the pass when he stepped up in the pocket was impressive. now we are a threat running or passing and we have 3 more games to work it out even further, and how bout that kicking game not one kicker but two! If we can get a couple of kids back on D (like spikes) we will be poised for another playoff run.
