Sinton played 4A Beeville in a non district game last night losing 3 to 1. It was a hard fought match and the Lady Pirates came within 2 points of forcing a game 5. Beeville is a good team and is already in the playoffs. I expect Sinton, Goliad and Ingleside to make the playoffs in our district even though I am not sure in what order yet. Last night Aransas Pass beat Mathis in volleyball. I don't know how the Ingleside vs Goliad game came out if they played last night.

I just found out that last night Goliad beat Ingleside in an exciting match 3 to 2. It came down to the fifth game that Goliad won 17 to 15 and it don't get closer than that.

What I think that does in District 30 is set up a showdown between Sinton and Goliad next Tuesday night in Sinton at 7 P.M. Goliad has beaten Ingleiside twice and Ingleside has beaten Sinton twice and Sinton has beaten Goliad once. All games were very close. Of course I am presuming that the teams will win the other conference games left to be played. I think though that Sinton vs Goliad will be the final showdown. If Goliad wins then they will be district champions followed by Ingleside and Sinton. If Sinton wins it will be a three way tie for district and there may have to be a playoff or coin flip to see who gets first, second and third in the playoffs. It will be interesting so if you have nothing to do come to Sinton Tuesday for this great showdown match. It should be a good one!

Sorry Pirate4State. I didn't know you had posted the Goliad vs Ingleside score while I was writing my summary. Either way we got the information across. :)

Bellville moved to 8-0 in district with win over Rice consolidated. 25-16, 25-13 and 26-24. By far, not Bellville's best match of year, but a win nonetheless over third place team in district.

I just found out that Aransas Pass had beat Ingleside in Volleyball and that throws a wrench in my analysis. Right now the standings are:

1. Goliad 5 - 1

2. Sinton 4 - 2

3. Ingleside 4 - 3

4. Aransas Pass 3 - 3

5. Mathis 0- 7

Sinton can win first place if we can beat Mathis this Friday on the road and then beat Goliad at home next Tuesday. The teams would be tied for first but Sinton would get the first round advantage by virtue of two wins over Goliad. If Goliad wins their game against Aransas Pass and Sinton they will be in first place. This would probably put Sinton tied with Ingleside for second place but Ingleside would get that tiebreaker if they beat Aransas Pass next Tuesday since they beat Sinton twice. The main thing is that Sinton and Goliad have their destiny in their hands so to speak with the big showdown Tuesday night. We need to get Friday's results for farther analysis.
