Daugherty is the backup QB at Sam Houston and Blanton is running track at BlowU. Blanton has some of the fastest 100 and 200 (and 60m for indoor) times in the country.

Blanton is no longer at OU ... he signed with Nike and turned pro a few months ago

Thanks for info. Not surprising he's done well in track.
I remember hearing that Blanton had some of the fastest 40 yard times ever, back when he was being recruited as football player.

Daugherty is starting this week (Thursday) against SFA. Game's gonna be at Sam, 7 pm on FSN.

I was lucky enough to do the playbyplay of Blanton his jr. and sr. years at FHS. Kaorder1999 got me the gig and I still appreciate it. In his senior year Blanton AVERAGED over 44 yards on his td runs. I'm still in shock he fumbled on the 12 against LaGrange. Not saying Forney would've won state, but it didn't help.

I agree 100% on the forty times, but if Blanton is in pro track, I would have to assume he's reasonably fast.

Do you guys remember the thread about a year ago about 40 times? It was off some web site somewhere. Basically it stated that the fastest 100 meters ever (at the time) was Ben Johnsons steroid induced 10.79 or whatever it was. They had it broken down into one meter increments. His race broke the 50 meter indoor record by a bunch and the 60 meter indoor world record by a bunch. What do you think his fully electonically timed 40 yard dash was? 4.38 Anything faster than that is pure bunk. Period. All times faster than that are attributable to quick fingers. Someone needs to go back and find that link. Very interesting article.
