I was told the score was WOS 27 HJ 6 in the 4th quarter. Does anyone have any thoughts whether WOS started massively substituting or HJ just stood up strong on them some.

Man, HJ is taking this one on the chin. They get beat by BC 55-20 and now getting tounced by WOS 55-13 and it's still not over. What is bad is the other teams in the district get Bridge City one week and then the following get WOS. That has got to be a dreaded 2 weeks.

I was thinking the same thing, but regardless that should be a very good game. Two undefeated teams meeting for the district crown. The threads ought to be good on this one.

I don't really think any messages were being sent -- I just think both BC and WOS are just a lot stronger than HJ at this point.

HJ has a great RB in Simien, and he busted a 75 yarder for their first score -- he's very fast and a real threat to score from anywhere on the field. WOS had stacked the line, but he got out of the scrum and was gone. Their second score came after WOS fumbled the ball inside their own red zone. Other than that, HJ really had difficulty moving the ball.

On the other end, HJ had very little success slowing down the WOS offense, which amassed 28 first downs and over 500 yards offense (363 on the ground). Earl Thomas was just unbelievable tonight -- he scored 3 TDs (2 rushing, 1 receiving), had about 120 yards rushing, and made some huge defensive plays. Beasley was Beasley -- he was elusive running the ball (2 rushing TDs) and showed great touch passing (10-15 for 150 yards, 2 passing TD, 0 INTs). Even the backups looked very good...

Overall, I felt HJ just had a hard time keeping up with WOS on both sides of the ball, but they certainly have some very good players. They will give a strong bid to finish as a playoff contender.
