I don't know what's been going on at the DMN this year, but they've been unusually nice to Madison in their coverage. I figured it was McMahon who was giving Madison their only weekly top 10 vote. Their coverage of Madison hasn't been kind to say the least in recent years. That article earlier this year where the DMN quoted a gang member who said he attended Madison when he had been thrown out of school long before the article was written was one glaring example of how they cover the school.

The last few months have brought some welcome change in how Madison is perceived in the local media. They quit propogating the myth that the school is a war zone and that good things are actually going on at Madison. Aside from that short-lived smear campaign in early August when Hutch kids were featured on every local station trashing Madison calling the school everything short of a prison, the coverage has been good. The local high school show on Sunday night on ABC even had them on there a few weeks back. That was just absolutely shocking to see any of the TV stations in Dallas want anything to do with Madison.
