Week 7 is over. It's time to focus on the biggest game in the district BAR NONE.
D19 will most likely be decided this week when Giddings travels to Cameron in a clash of the titans! After the loss by Snyder tonight, Cameron should move to # 3 in the ap poll and Giddings may very well break in to the top ten as well! Here's the tale of the tape this season.
Cameron Yoemen:
8/26/05 Fairfield (TX) W 43-10
9/2/05 @Bellville (TX) W 28-24
9/9/05 @Franklin (TX) W 54-0
9/23/05 Manor (TX) W 38-21
9/30/05 @Smithville (TX) W 70-0
10/7/05 Caldwell (TX) W 28-14
10/14/05 @La Grange (TX) W 26-10

Giddings Buffalos:

8/26/05 @Sealy (TX) W 47-0
9/2/05 Yoakum (TX) W 45-21
9/9/05 @Columbus (TX) W 42-0
9/23/05 Smithville (TX) W 37-14
9/30/05 @Caldwell (TX) W 47-7
10/7/05 La Grange (TX) W 58-6
10/14/05 Rockdale (TX) W 39-6

I've got an uneasy feeling about this game but at the same time, I know that when Cameron's offense puts it together, even this vaunted Giddings defense can't hold them. Both teams have been marred w/ penalties all season but they both play very aggressive defense. Any time these two teams play each other it's a hard hitting battle but the repsect between the schools is clearly there. There's no other game in Region 3 or possibly all of 3A this week that will be better. Can't wait!!!!!

I just got home from the Rockdale\Giddings game and have these conclusions from what I saw out of Giddings.

Giddings has some very good looking athletes led by the QB #5. They are a running team. They run first, second and third. If you can force the QB to pitch the ball on the option they are an average football team. The key to their sucess is the QB on the run.

Their Defense lined up with 3 down lineman with 4 LB's 4-5 yds off the ball and almost everytime blitzed one of them. I don't know if this is their base defense or this was their set for Rockdale since we only line up 8 or so yds deep in the shotgun with an empty set or with one back. If this is their base defense they are open to the quick FB dive until they crowd the line of scrimmage. Then go to the spread. I think Cameron will do this. In my opinion they can not stop the Cameron passing game. Cameron will use the miss matches and put Giddings in situations they can not handle.

Lastly Giddings had several personal fouls when up by 30 points. This showed some issues are there.

From what I've heard Cameron has some difficulty with a power running team. Well get ready cause here comes Giddings and that is what they do.

This will be a good one and I figure 70 points will be scored in this one. I do believe the Yoe will pull it out at home.

we shall see.....it seems like our D has been more of a bend but don't break but they do bend ALOT. As for the offense, they better get it together. The talent is there but they need to focus. It seems we took the last two weeks for granted in lookingforward to this game and the Rockdale & Hutto games.

Well from playing both of the teams I dont believe Cameron will be able to stop thier offense based on how their defensive tackles are readers. Giddings will run the veer and midline all night if they dont have thier tackles get out of the reading defense.

Giddings wins this one, Cameron looked like an average team against LG. Giddings ground game will be to much for Cameron.

this is going to be a great game...Giddings is so quick and strong on both sides of the ball...playing in Cameron, should be a tight game...

I'll go with the Yoeman. If Giddings uses the defense they used against Rockdale last week the Yoeman score at least 3 TD's on passes to Evans. I'm sure the Yoeman had scouts there and saw the Tigers complete fade after fade pass to Brooks last week.

Plus I'd hate to know I blitzed the Yoeman and had to run down the Yoeman QB.

Would the Brooks kid be the son or nephew of Donnie Brooks???

Neither team possesses the ability to make it deep. Not disciplined enough. Not strong enough offensively or defensively.

both teams are in the top 5 or 6 as far as margin of victory and you say they aren't good enough offensive or defensively? Interesting.

District 19: Battle of the undefeated - Buffaloes vs the Yoemen.

Cameron, 7-0, is led by QB Brian Scott, 1347 yds passing, 13 td's & 4 interceptions. He currently leads Austin area 3a schools in passing yards. Derrick Evans is his main receiver with 676 yds. He also leads the Austin area.

Giddings has QB Brock Fitzhenry at the helm. He has 419 passing yds, 6 (or 16 depending on the source  ) passing td's, and 1380 yds rushing (20 td's). He leads Austin area in rushing yards. Jarmon, RB (483 yds, 6 td's), Green, WR (240 yds, 5 td's) and Gonzales, WR (79 yds) complete the offense.

Winner of the game will have the upper edge at claiming the district title.

Thoughts? Predictions?

Domo is doing good, for when he gets the ball. He is mainly playing defense. Could go defense or offense to any college he wants
