see you on Wednesday. The Astros still REALLY need to get to a Cardinals starter earlier. I know it hasn't been mentioned yet...but Lidge has been shaky in 3 straight outings now.

This will just make the playoff series win that much "sweeter" for the Stros to win it in St. Louis. However---Important safety tip---WALK PUJOLS next time the game is on the line.

PhiI C
10-17-2005, 10:52 PM
Astros blew it tonight and in this series. St. Louis will take them in 2 in St. Louis. What a blown once in a lifetime opportunity but then that is Houston Astros. Even if somehow they beat St. Louis one game which I doubt they will be at a big disadvantage for Chicago who will be well rested. No World Series win for Houston this year. :(

i think i might go cry now but i guess we get 2 more chances in st louis

PhiI C

I wish you were right horn but I am afraid that 2 chances in St. Louis = no chance at all now. No way Houston can come back now. :(

I don't have a favorite baseball team, but I'm rooting for them b/c they are a Texas team. I feel really bad for their true fans. I don't think they can come back from that blast, but I hope they prove me wrong!!

The thing also is that this is a blow psycologically to the Astros. I don't think Houston will be able to recover from losing this once in a lifetime opportunity. :(

And the ice bowl game that Bart Starr scored on a play that Jerry Kramer later admitted he jumped offsides plus Jackie Smith's dropped pass against Pittsburgh in that Super Bowl. :(

We're all unhappy, Phil. I really think we are all going to be very happy Wednesday night. I personally think the Stros are a very, very good team of destiny this year.

District is a young man and hasn't had the experience of living a lifetime with no Texas team ever making it to the world series. After what happened last night I am afraid he will live this experience like us older ones here.

You are right there Huper I am not really a pro baseball fan at all expecially so since the last strike and not really a big Astro fan but I really wanted a Texas team to make it to the world series and win it at least once in my lifetime. I would have cheered for the Rangers if they had been in it last night. I hope the Astros can pull it out in St. Louis or last night is probably going to go down as one of the top five biggest chokes of all time on ESPN Classics.

First of all, you have to understand that me and my husband NEVER root for the same teams so we don't watch games in the same room.

Last night, he heard me whooping when Berkman hit his home run, then when Pujols hit his....my husband came in and did a twisted little dance and said "listen....I think that ball landed in our back yard."

This morning when I was leaving to go to work....there was a baseball sitting on the hood of my car!:foul: :foul: :foul:

He's just "plain" sick!

The astros will make it this year, what are the odds of the st. louis cardinals beating the best 3 man rotation in the game and also from what i have heard they could also be the best 3 man rotation in the history of the game. Also Roger Clemens mom said on her death bed that the houston astros would win the game the day she died 10-2, roger clemens drove in the 10th run making it 10-1 and eric brunlett made only his 2nd error all season long which allowed a run to score making the final score 10-2, she also said that 2 teams that havent been to the world series in a while would make it (chicago its been 46 years and there last world series victory was in 1917) and honestly going into the playoffs i didnt think the whitesox had a shot at beating the red sox then after that series the angels. The astros have been in existence for 45 years and a day, yesterday was there 45th anniversary. I just have a feeling about this years team they arent very flashy and cant put on an offensive show. However i feel they have the pitching and the bullpen to possibly win it all this year. Going into last nights game the astros bullpen had an 0.87 ERA thats lights out and in my opinion the best bullpen in the playoffs. Have faith astros fans, they will make it this year

Somebody help me here.....How is having one hanging "slider" hit out of the park by one of the best players in the game a "choke" by the Stros? The team I've been watching had been beating the devil out of St. Louis 3 out of 4 games and was a couple of strikes away from winning the series. I still think the Stros are going to get it done.

ro_tex_solja

the only way it was a choke is if they cant win one freakin game out of two...and im definitely not gonna count the cardinals out, that would just be too crazy, if they can do what they did under pressure last night they still have a chance....i know the astros better not let it go to game 7 cuz u gotta like the cardinals in that game...just for the state of texas astros please win game 6...u got us all scared to death right now...lol
