The only team that will beat them is UT

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Tech will beat UT and the national championship will be USC and Virginia Tech

well, i see the game bein a high score but i think UT will pull it off in the final minutes. UT 45- Texas Tech 41- All of the Tech TD's will come in the air and Young will have his best game on the ground this year.

it will be a good game.

i hope that vince is forced to stay in the pocket....i also think that vince will be exposed this week and tech will emerge victorious.

If the game was in Lubbock...then maybe! When Tech heads to Austin...it's just not the same game. Texas 45 Tech 24

if vince does have a flaw, tech doesn't have the people to expose it.

I guess you don't know about McBath!!

no but seriously, the Texas defense isn't invincible and i think Tech will be able to move the ball fairly easily on them, if Tech can get a few turnovers out of Texas and get up on them early I really think Texas Tech can win

I just dont think Tech can pull it off. They have a very good team but i think they will put up a few picks by the time Texas is up a good ammount in which case Tech will throw 50 yard bombs and screw up.

Tech's Cody Hodges threw for 643 yards and 5 TD's against K-State on Saturday. Texas comes into this with the upper hand but it will not be impossible for Tech, it should be a great game.

By the way, did anyone see that hit by Duane Slay where he took the QB from KState completely off the screen? He fits his last name!

Go RED RAIDERS!!!!

I just can't see Tech even hanging with Texas. Sure they can score 80 and 63 points against the SHSU's and Indiana State's. Nebraska ALMOST beat them and Tech only score 34!!! That's against a good defense and not a GREAT defense like Texas!! Texas in a rout.

Texas 48

Tech 20

When Tech and Nebraska played Nebraska's defense had been scored on less then anyone else in the nation and Tech STILL put up 34 points!! thats impressive!!

Not to put down Nebraska but they haven't played anyone also. Maine (they have a football team),Wake Forest (I thought they only played basketball),Pittsburgh (who hasn't beaten Pitt this year) and then Iowa State. Not real powerhouses if you ask me. But I see where Callahan is coming from, for scheduling these teams to make his team more confident going into Conference play.

# 7?  I want some of whatever the BCS guys are having. ;) As much as I would like otherwise, I'm not certain that Tech can pull of a win. Texas is playing great this year. But, I will be pulling for Tech to pull off the upset and win or lose, they have my support.

Tech always looks good at this point of the season due to their offense. They will fizzle out like they always do. I WOULD like to see them only have one loss in the Big Twelve to TEXAS.

Go Horns!!!

I enjoy Tech's style of football and I cheer for them virtually every week, but let's face it, they haven't played anybody that even has anything resembling an offense. I can't see them being able to even slow Texas down for long. Sure, they can throw the ball, but it's going to be a lot harder getting time to throw against that Texas defense.

Texas 42, Tech 17
Texas gets at least 3 picks.

Someone please explain to me how someone is a product of the system. It takes a little talent to do what Cumbie and Hodges have done. Isn't every college player a product of the system?

"Fizzle out and the end of the year like they always do"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they beat the snot out of a good Cal team at the very end of year?

Tech always scores a lot of points and when they play Texas they flat out suck and only score like 20 or somethin.

They are a product of the system because they throw 90% of the time, if they are as good as they are advertised they would be starting in the NFL, but NO! They are a product of a pass happy team.

only three things could scare a Longhorn:

1) robber with a knife
2) Yankee with a U-Haul
3) Texas Tech with a defense!!

Big difference between hitting a 6-3, 210lb. QB with limited mobility and a 6-5, 235lb. QB with speed and agility.

That UT 'O' line is way better than that one from K-State, too.

The only thing slay will be hitting hard is the ground when he is trying to pick up his jock then he'll probably have to go see the team trainer and get them ankles taped

3) Texas Tech with a defense!!

That is too funny!! You know it'll never happen while Leach is there!!! He's strictly:

1st: his pass happy offense

2nd: his ego

3rd: stats, stats, stats and running up the score on a Div.II team

I could go on and on..........defense is definitely WAY at the bottom!!!

Because K-state has such a dominating team this year

Just because Texas ran over teams like LLU and Rice doesnt mean they could run over quality teams like OU , Missouri and Colorado.

Oh wait....they did....never mind....sorry guys.

Tech walks into this one never having a chance.

Texas 52 (*or 59)

Tech 21

*ill even go so far as to say that the back up QB throws a touchdown pass....so if he gets put in....he throws the td....so add another 7 pts to that

One thing people rarely consider is that when you have the quick strike offense like Tech that it typically doesn't chew up much clock. This means their defense averages quite a few more drives to have to stop that the normal defense. Enough to make any defense look below normal.

I will say that UT has handed Tech their butts to them a few times. But, you cannot say "always". Of the prior 10 games, Tech has actually won 3. :p

Tech - 42
Texas - 41

Texas looks primed for a national championship... having said that, Texas should have gone to the national championships several of the last few years, but they always manage to screw up against "worse" teams somehow. Against Tech in 2002, Arkansas in 2003, and let's not forget the epic choke in 2001 against Colorado. Looks like it's going to be Tech in 2005!

By the way Cody Hodges not mobile?? A 4.6 forty time or so isn't to bad, especially compared to the previous tech qbs 5.2 forty times lol.

The Arkansas loss in 2003 didn't keep us from going anywhere. It was the OU loss that denied us.
