i was asking about at the start of the drive. They run for about 1 yard then Quinn is sacked on 3rd down and then it shows he ran the ball on 4th down for about 3 yards...and then Walker also ran for 8 yards on 4th down...and then it's a ND first down. I got the stuff at the end of the drive...

works for me...just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something crazy like ND getting 5 downs instead of 4. I found on another play-by-play listing that USC was flagged for 15 yards (assuming an auto 1st down) on that play so that would have given ND the first down.

usc should have lost that game by all rights. but they won. im no where near any pac-10 team band wagon, but they are a very good school and as mwynn said, great teams pull off wins when they have to. i think that if nd had taken a little more time on their last drive down the field, wed have a enw number one in next weeks rankings. but as stated, usc won. so move onto next week.

Take the easy way out if you want. I'd prefer if a team I support is to be considered the best that the team beat the best teams week in and week out. That's why I am disappointed that OU is down this year. I can't think of a better way for Texas to make a statement that Texas is the best team in the country and the National Champions then to go to the Rose Bowl and kick USC's butt!

That is NOT the number one team in the country. Aside from blowing out Arkansas, they've really looked like merely a very good team and not a team that has been deemed by many to be among college football's all-time great teams. All-time great teams have very, very good defenses and USC doesn't have that. Today just reinforced for me that there's two other teams who should be ahead of them right now. UT and Va Tech have played a far superior brand of football so far this year and both have far, far better defenses than what Southern Cal is putting out there.

Notre Dame is a great and storied athletic program. I just don't like to see them win anytime, anywhere. It seems that everytime ND gets on a roll, they automatically make the top ten and are awarded the national title before they even play the game. And, BTW, I am biased---for any team from Texas, first and secondly, for any team from the South.

your right their defense is not all that...and lately they have been proving that they arent unbeatable and texas has proved that they are inVINCEable....lol...if usc keeps letting teams hang they will lose their number one rank to texas
