GAINESVILLE – Michael Miller rushed for 139 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead No. 8 Gainesville past Pilot Point 36-8 in a District 6-3A game Friday.
Miller scored on runs of 12 and 1 yards and added a 79-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Kellin Kemp added a 20-yard interception return for a touchdown and also scored on a 22-yard run in the third quarter. Pilot Point's only score came on a 7-yard pass from Arthur Buckingham to Ricky Henderson.
Gainesville's defense only allowed 153 yards of total offense. Gainesville has won 14 straight district games dating back to 2002. Gainesville is now 6-0 overall and 2-0 in district. Pilot Point fell to
3-4 and 1-1 in district.
