Not even close! The last two games, strong side defense has been beefed up to cover Kociuba. That has led to the rest of the backfield to have break out games. Way to go Panthers! And the defense is getting awesome!

Panthers - GREAT GAME. Very few penalties for LH this week. It just looked like offense and defense were both totally "on."

Chris Hart - Stick with us! You'll be rooting for LH when we play the Wimberley boys, yes?

Thunderstruck! The Cats are ALIVE in '05!

The lack of penalties was very nice. And it was great to see ZERO fumbles for the first time. :) Good job Panther O & D!

Why of course. If one of you guys knock off Cuero in the playoffs, we may get to see Wimberley/LH twice in the same year. Now wouldn't that be great!;)

Llano was having trouble on defense in the first place but those turnovers didnt help either.

I still have a hard time seeing 63 as a score and not wonder why the coach let this happen. What goes around comes around.

Well I usually think the same thing....but we didn't pull away like the end of the 3rd qtr...then we put alot of our backups in. Ingram made some good runs....heck they scored on their first possession of the game! I mean, it wasn't like it was 63 to nothing.

FOURTH QUARTER: Liberty Hill: Kociuba 48 run (Ledesma kick).

Star running back scores from 48 yards out in the fourth quarter with the score already 56 -14. This is what I'm talking about when I say it sure is difficult to see that 63 on the winning side without having feelings that the LH coach runs up the score.

Coach Walker put in backups!? lmao! As long as Walker is the offensive cordinator you will never see that happend unless LH is up by 50 with 5 minutes left in the game...Otherwise he will just pound you with starters all night long.:evillaugh

60-0 scores isn't something new in hs football. it happens week in and week out. it's really not that big of a deal.

it's like Mike Leach said when he was accused of running it up last year... it's the other team's job to stop us.

Very few high school coaches keep their starters in after they get up 35 or 42 or so. Some six-man teams don't have much choice; no backups

If I remember correctly, Guy Morriss said the same thing when Tech romped them a year or two ago.

In most of the games this year that have become blow-outs, this has been done. Even with 2nd and 3rd backups in, we've been accused of the same. I cannot answer "why" starters continued to play, I can only give my perspective.

1) Llano started running a very similar offense this year, and in looking at their prior games, the indication before the game was that there was a potential shoot out in store. (My thoughts were that Llano's opponents had no answer to the offense and it was obvious to me early in the 2nd qtr that I was right.)
2) All year, there has been "talk" that our defense is suspect and weak, allowing way too many points to be considered having a chance at a deep playoff run. Our defense against Llano played a huge part in the score.
3) The next two weeks, we will face the two toughest district opponents in Bandera and Wimberley. Our starters will have to be prepared to play 100% four full quarters, in order for us to ensure a win, and even that may not be enough. Both teams are VERY tough and it will take everything the boys have to be able to win. In having 2 consecutive weeks off, then playing Brady, outside of practice, the preparation was not there.

I agree.....this game will be a good one....I;ve been looking at both our stats...should be a tough game if both play to their ability....Good luck to both!!!

funny how there is only a minute left in the game when LH is up by 60+ and Kociuba is still in the game. i know llano was supposed to stop them but look on coach yeagers sidelines and i see that he already has some of his backups in. figuring Lh coach wasnt a !@#$%^.

I closed this earlier and it shall remain closed. If there's anyone who would like to question our coaches or their decisions, please feel free to send me a pm and I will be more than happy to discuss or answer what I can.

For the record, some of our 2nd string offense is our first string defense, including starting LB. I doubt this makes much difference to most of you, but I defended coaches while growing up and I will continue to do so. I may not always agree with their decisions, but you will not hear that from me in public, either on here or in person.
