H-J's All Stater(Clifton Simien) had very little yardage against BCs 1st and 2nd team and the 3rd team did give him a little yardage. BC picked off 6 passes today with some spectacular run backs. The game was over by the half but a benevolent BC staff let the game finish at 55-20.
I think Ashton Elliott had a most remarkable pickoff 45 yard runback, what moves the splitout made while subbing at SS.
One tell-tell event took place of note, Inside Linebacker Sam Elmore(who will go to college on a discus/shotput scholarship) picked off a pass and went 95 yards.
Here is the remarkable thing--Clifton Semien is touted as the second fastest runner in 24-3A and even with an angle he could not catch Sam Elmore! Secondly, the champion hurdler, Cody Sparks, pulled up between Simien and Elmore--and the two had more "football speed" in the long dash than the noted All-Stater.
BC is loaded with good athletes and it will take a top-premium team to take them out this year.
I think H-J may be a 24-3A playoff team; they have 21 seasoned Seniors and one heck of a back and if you don't have speed and poise on your defense--they can be a threat. BC had one questionable evacuee that DID return and played one heck of a ballgame. It was just great to see this team churning out gaping yardage and subbing real heavy by mid-second quarter.
This is a very good 3A untouted football team!
