ONCE AGAIN the defense has to carry the team to another win. For the first time all season Madison ran more plays than their opponent, but they had 4 trips inside the 15 yard line that got them zero points. This game should've been a rout, but the offense is still sputtering along. RB Shawnbrey McNeil accounted for Madison's 3 TD's today. This game would've been a shutout if Madison's defense hadn't been given more horrible field position again this week to work with as Pinkston's only TD came on their 2nd possession which started at the Madison 25 yard line.

Pinkston came into today averaging 41 points and 426 yards of offense. By the end of the game Pinkston RB Jarrell Love, who entered the game with 708 yards and 9TD's in his first four games of the year, had 17 carries for 14 yards and no TD's. Pinkston had just 70 yards of total offense and had minus 15 yards on the ground as a team. Was impressed to see the defense rebound from the Lincoln game despite playing without starting DT Allen Lee for a 2nd straight week. I don't know how much longer the defense can carry this team, but they could really use some more help from the offensive side of the ball. Four turnovers inside your opponents 15 yard line isn't going to win you many big games in my opinion.

Anyhow Madison has what amounts to a scrimmage next week against North Dallas before getting ready for district play. Can't wait for district to start! :)
