My Pick major upset Notre Dame is better on defensive side than people think they have gave up yards but after they have been up in the second half by 21 or more.

see here's where the scedulers are looking smart........virgina tech is going to sneak into the #2 or #1 spot after this game...

texas plays tech, which should be titled "first to a hundred"

and then USC-ND has bout as much hype as OSU-t.u. did earlier this year......

what do yall think will happen if tech beats K-State (which they should) and then beats UT on the road.

will they start to get some attention...crack the top 8 or so?

maybe they will, but i think most of the voters are tired of leach's system...i think they have a bias against him because he produces high powered offenses but leaves his defense in shambles...

How will Virginia Tech sneaking into the #1 spot? If USC loses, I can see the justification for #2, but not #1.

And if Tech upsets Texas (which they won't) then yeah, they'll be in the top 10 for sure. The only reason Tech isn't in the top 10 now is because of the weak OOC schedule they had. That is what every publication I've read has stated.

i may get trounced on for saying this...
but i think if you give Tech a GOOD defense, not necessarily a GOOD to GREAT defense, they could actually win the conference every year.

If you go look at the numbers from the past few years...Tech's defense has quietly moved from around 100 in the country to into the top 30 or so. Remember...they are able to do this while still being the most penalized team as well as typically spending more time on the field than any other defense in the country because their offense scores so dang quick...

That is because Tech plays Div1-AA in non confrence if they would play Michigan ST. or so in early going they would be in the top30 as a defense or even in the top 25 overall.

i have heard that both Louisville and Auburn bought out their contract with Tech.

Thus tech had money and open dates and they were filled by some JV teams.

Tech scores 80 against SHSU and 63 against Indiana St who are both Div.II schools. They barely put up 30 against Kansas and 34 against Nebraska who are decent teams. They will be lucky to put up 17-21 points against a great Texas D. The tougher the competition the less they will score!!!
