Port Neches-Groves and Nederland will play out "Mid County Madness" at Barber's Hill on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. due to structural problems at Nederland's stadium. This is one of the oldest and most bitter rivalries in the state.

Great..now I have a good game to go see close to home. I remember as a kid living in Nederland and going to THE GAME when we finally broke the epic losing streak to PNG. Go Dawgs!! :D :D

Wow!!! How big is the BH stadium?

not big enough...but it probably holds 6K or more.

y wouldnt they do that at Stallworth in Baytown? makes no sense unless if Sterling or Lee have a game that night....not trying to offend BH people or anything but a stadium that holds 16k is a bit more suited for that rivalry than the BH stadium

PN-G and Nederland folks are throwing a fit about a stadium that size hosting a game that probably has drawn as many as 20K at its peak.

Gonna look like a sardine can. Our stadium only holds a little under 8000. I'm sure they explored other options. I guess it came down to "Do you want to play or not?"

I will attend this contest. I would think that they would be happy just to play. If they could have went somewhere else--don't you think they would have? Why complain about the field? Just get there early.

This game has been moved to Pasadena Memorial Stadium, I think.

Yes, it's true, thanks to PN-G game is moved to Pasadena Memorial. I guess PN-G is scared to even step foot on BH field, let alone ever have to play them!

Either that or they thought a 2,500 capacity visitors side wouldn't hold the 6,000 plus that ALWAYS are in purple and white for MCM.

Hate to see it move but good choice.

Big words Big C. You might get your wish really soon when BH moves up next realignment. I have never witnessed anything in high school football like the "purple" at a playoff game. Burnet green came close.

I think we will be competitive in 4a but we wont have the success we are having now for a few years.
