OK Ags---You guys need to re-live some past glory in light of this football season. What do you think is the best Aggie football team of all time? 1939 National Champs? 1987 team that beat Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl 35-10?

Coryatt was as dominating an outside linebacker as I have ever seen...went #2 in the draft I think....injuries hobbled his career. The 1987 team was good, the 1997 team that upset K-state in the conference championship was pretty good. Gene Stallings coached a team in the sixties that supposedly was pretty good. The team that beat Auburn in the cotton bowl and held Bo Jackson out of the endzone 4 times inside the 2 yard line was pretty good. Through the years....I have probably been more dissapointed than not with the Aggie teams because even when we had some talented kids it seemed that they never could get over the hump of being a top 20 team into the echelon of being a legit NC contender. They would always let some team slip up on them and lose or they would get dismantled by Florida St. in the cotton bowl. Maybe they should ask RC back to be the Defensive Coordinator!!

I remember a lot of Aggie games before coeds and everybody was in the Corps. The Yell Leaders sure got a lot of response back then.

Quentin Coryatt...though I was young at the time I still remember watching him play (and I didn't like A&M at all back then) and thinking...WOW that guy is good! Going back and seeing game tapes of him, I think he played the game with as much reckless abandon, if not more, as a Taylor or a Butkus did.
