Miami awarded 2010 Super Bowl Click here to find out more!

NFL.com wire reports

ROMULUS, Mich. (Oct. 6, 2005) -- Miami was awarded the 2010 Super Bowl -- the 10th time the city will host the title game.

Atlanta, Houston and Miami made a final pitch for the marquee event at an NFL owners meeting in this Detroit suburb about 25 miles from Ford Field, where the next Super Bowl will be played.

Atlanta and Houston entered the vote as favorites because Miami already had been picked for the 2007 game. After 2010, Miami will top New Orleans' record of nine for hosting the most Super Bowl games.

The 2010 Super Bowl originally was awarded to New York on the condition that a new stadium be built for the Jets. Those plans, however, fell through.

This is horrible, terrible news which just goes to show how the NFL conspires against the Cowboys. All three of Dallas' Super Bowl losses came in Miami! Their five wins were 2 in New Orleans, LA which may be impossible from now on, one in Pasadena, CA, one in Atlanta, GA and one in Tempe, AZ.
:(

Isn't Dallas getting a new stadium? If so, how far out in the future will that be?

Maybe Dallas will get it in 2011...

Texas Stadium
After more than 30 years at Texas Stadium and many other teams in the NFL getting new stadiums, construction is about to begin for a new stadium for the Dallas Cowboys. When built, the stadium will have 75,000 seats and a retractable roof. The stadium will feature open end zones linked to fan decks that could increase seating capacity to 100,000. Unlike there current home, Texas Stadium, the stadium will have a natural grass playing surface. As part of the new Cowboys stadium will be Legends Square, an environment of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and gathering places, extending fan experience to a daylong event and providing a source of year-round visitation. On the edge of Legends Square will be the Cowboys Experience, a spectacular, multi-faceted venue built by the Dallas Cowboys for community activities, fan experiences and tourism. It will be a one of a kind attraction celebrating the legacy of the Dallas Cowboys. HKS, Inc. has been the architect for the Dallas Cowboys since winning a national design competition over three years ago. In November 2004, Arlington voters approved a tax increase to help Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones build a $650 million stadium in the North Texas city. Voters approved a measure that would raise the city sales tax by a half-cent, hotel occupancy tax by 2 percent, and car rental tax by 5 percent.

I heard something somewhere that our good buddy Jerry Jones wanted to get a gambling permit and put a casino in that mofo.
Well, if they do that, they might as well add an IRS office and it'll be like a Super Wal-Mart
