I realize there are two 1-4 teams there alongside a 1-2 team.. if you look at what Atlanta and Iowa Park have both been through this year, you would understand. Brownwood in 4A is under the same boat Atlanta and Iowa Park are in.

With all they've done, I'm surprised Monahans is not in the top 40. 5-0, 193/57 (points/points against). Beat a Top 10 2A team last week 45-7.

They have not been overlooked.. Another win should be enough to get them in with the number of match ups between Top 40 teams this week.. they are on the bubble line right now. One thing Monahans has going for them is the 3A punching bag in 4A Andrews.

I know that Atlanta plays a tough schedule and I definitely respect that. However, IP did NOT play that hard of a schedule. If they had played a decent game against Gainesville then I would let it go. However, Mineral Wells...a 4A team with a coach in Bourquin that owned IP for years at Graham...wait until they flop in the playoffs. Burkburnett...a mediocore 3A quality team IN A GOOD YEAR! Wichita Falls...great tradition and a lot of recent success but has been down the past two years. Childress, come on it's a 2A school that hasn't even played any other good teams in the preseason. Thus their high ranking in 2A is not all that justified....

I do not agree with Canton being 29th. They have not played a quality opponent yet and got beat by a 4A team that has been beaten by other 3A teams (Mabank). Brownsboro should be there instead of Canton. You could even make a case for Van

Look at this way Atlanta is 1-0 against 3A competition. The rest of their schedule has been 4A including two state ranked 4A teams one of hem being the defending state champs.

Come on... atlanta....do not let the 1-4 record fool you. they are certainly one of the top 40 teams. probably more like top 20. they were 0-4 2 years ago with basically this same schedule. reeled of 12 in a row which = state championship. now i'm not saying that will happen again, but they can play and will show it before the end of season.
