I read across someone saying Gatesville wasn't ranked in the 2000 season and were not picked to win district... As we all know, they went on to win the Division 1 state title against Abilene Wylie...
Well, whoever said this, I dug out my 2000 DCTF and here's what I found...
Gatesville: Ranked #13 in the State...
Gatesville: Picked to win the District Championship...
Gatesville Notes: Led by one of the state's top backs in Henderson, the Hornets have the experience to go one game further in the playoffs this season after a surprise semifinal appearance last season...
Well they WERE ranked, they WERE picked to win district, and if you break down that last statement, they were picked to get to the State Game...
Either one of us got ahold of a misprint copy of DCTF, or the person who said it just doesn't know a thing...
