You know the one, the one who caught that awesome pass earlier this season???

Well, I was watching the Florida/Alabama game today and he was injured on an incomplete pass to the endzone...

They showed one replay and it showed him going down (bad angle)...

But when they showed the next one? EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...

Just imagine watching a receiver jump up in the air to catch the ball, now focus on his legs touching the ground, now imagine his leg, about 3-4 inches above his ankle, breaking and going out about 90 degrees... that was freaking nasty...

His name is Tyrone Prothro

There you go...

I can only imagine the initial pain he received... pretty sure it was making its way to numb shortly after the injury...

A DB for Cuero had the same thing happen to him in the last game against Sealy... he hit the ground and the stretcher was on its way...

Even with losing such a great player as Prothro, you have to believe that 'Bama is back... they are 10 times better than I expected... their D isn't huge, but they are one of the best ones I've seen all year... Their o-line is very good and they have a very wirey, athletic, great, smart, tough QB... running game will only get better...

Saw it on Sportscenter this morning. Didn't get to see Slo Mo but it was pretty gruesome.

man that sucked bad....it was just dangling there....it really sucks too because he was a standout receiver for alabama...he had awesome catches followed by awesome catches..for that to happen to him that really sucks

he had like 154 yards on the day and they were just playing scrap time....

There would have been craziness at Kyle Field...I can see it now! The Baylor fans don't get scared away by the swords and somebody ends up getting stabbed and then A&M has assault charges filed against them....pure madness!

ya, it looked pretty cool, Im saying this from a medical perspective.....not cool for alabama, WHO DESTROYED FLORIDA in my opinion! Way to go 'Bama! Bet they'll move up the rankings this week!

Hell yeah, Bama, just keep winning. On November 19 we'll kick you back down to Earth.

I bleed burnt orange, but my blood runs through the Plains of Alabama, fellas. My team was the REAL 2004 National Champs.

That's right, you're an Auburn guy. Sorry about the LSU association, lol

That injury was so nasty! I was watching the game and just SCREAMED when I saw it. Reminded me of the Joe Theisman injury. awful, just awful.

I hope the young man will have a full recovery, no matter who he plays for.

Me too. It's just comforting to know that he won't be on the field for the Iron Bowl.:D

I hate Bama more than you hate UT.

I really do hope Prothro gets better and does well and goes on to lead a productive life. I hope he finds a great job, a great wife and has the most beautiful kids in the world. But on that note, it doesn't bother me one bit that he's sitting out the Auburn game.:p

What really surprised me about the injury was that it happened on a grass field. I'll bet that happens on the turf more than on the grass.

Now that I think about it, I think Thiesman broke his like that on grass too, though...

Joe Theismann broke his leg on Lawrence Taylor's butt. LT flew thru the air and landed butt-first on Joe's calf. It snapped ugly, but I really think this Bama fellows looks uglier.
