Today's game in Buda. I expected a low scoring game won by the Billies, but the Tigers pulled out a close win. I don't know the specifics, just the score of 20-17 Wharton. Congrats to the Tigers on a nice win!

Game was in Buda (Bob Shelton Stadium at Hays Cons. High School). It was a well played game.

Funny thing about the game -- NO OFFICIALS!! They didn't show up -- don't know what happened, but some coaches and fans from both teams called the game and they did a great job. You didn't see any arguing and the teams played with great composure. It was nice to see such good sportsmanship by both schools.

That's awesome that the coaches and fans stepped up. That's an awful long drive for both schools, for the officials not to show up. I'm glad all went well, sounds like it was a great game. Did the refs EVER show up?

One ref showed up, but I don't think that he was assigned that game. I think that he was a ref who lived in Buda. One of the guys who did the game was actually a ref with the Houston Chapter (he did the 5A state championship game in '04). Not sure what happened, with all of the site changes and time changes, it is possible the the refs went to the wrong place. The funny thing was that the "refs" threw their hats since they didn't have flags. Once the announcer said, "There are 'hats' on the play!"

I wish I could have been there too! I had a tremendous amount of work to do so wasn't able to go. I hear #2 for the Tigers saved the day with a pick in the endzone at the end of the game. As far as any stats, I haven't heard.

Way to go Tigers! Awesome win, when many thought you guys wouldn't pull it off over "the much improved from last year" Fredericksburg team. And I'm not cutting down Fredericksburg at all, just simply repeating what I saw others say.
