Interstate 45

I just heard Interstate 45, going from Houston to Dallas, is backed up for 200 miles - the average speed, they said, was 20-25 mph.

That's awful! I understand at some point today, that it will become outgoing from Houston only. Hopefully that will alleviate some of the wait.

I just heard a confirmation that I-45, I-10, and HWY 290 are all Northbound only - You cannot take those roads (south) back into Houston.

You can bet your hat that HWY 6 will be the next one to go northbound only!!!!

i got on hwy 36 last night to go into town and right when i pulled up to the stop sign b4 gettin on 36 a line of traffic as far as a could freakin see was coming from houston. when i finally got on 36 a 10 minute trip to town took 30 minutes.

I heard yesterday the 50 mile trip from galveston to houston was taking approximately 8 hours....reminds me of the traffic scene from office space when the old man on the walker was passing up the people sitting in their cars, and leaving them in the dust.
