Baylor vs ...i think it was Tech but I'm not too sure. It was back around 92 or 93. I remember 2 things...1) it poured rain ALL day long and 2) I left my Arizona State hat at the stadium and they wouldn't turn around to go get it for me! :(

The first one that I really remember (as far as big time games) was A&M vs Tech a few years ago. This is the infamous one where A&M is up 28 in the 4th...Kingsbury leads Tech back...A&M misses not one but TWO XP's to lose this game 48-47. On a side note my girlfriend passed out in the concession line in the 2nd quarter and the help (and free lunch)that I got from people in line (as well as 1st aid staff) totally changed my opinion of A&M and they are now a school that I really like a lot...except whenever I can watch Texas BTHO A&M :D :D

The main thing I remember was I had to go to the bathroom SO bad and the line to get in there was longer than a Six Flags ride.

In fact, that was my me and my husband's first date!:D

Several college games when the Cottonbowl was the Cottonbowl in the good 'ole SWC days. My high school band performed during pre-game and at half-time several years. I do remember one in particular when we actually marched in the Cottonbowl parade, it was -8 degrees that morning. One kid from Longview actually was dumb enough to lick his lips before putting his trumpet to his mouth and he got stuck to it!

The crowd along the streets were wonderful! During commercial breaks, they would come off the sidewalks and give our twirlers their blankets to cover up with. (Back when bands had twirlers) Joe Montana was qb'ing that year. Little did I know what a superstar he'd eventually become.

It was last night SFA beat Western Illinois 63-36. Came up here to visit one of my sons, this is his first year of college, and my wife and me took him, his girlfriend, and our youngest son to the game. It was lots of fun but as the announcer said before kickoff it was a comfortable 98 degrees. Beautiful field and a really nice stadium. I noticed three Dayton kids on the roster that I knew of.

I was at that game too.

I don't remember who A&M played at my first game but Kyle field was under construction. They occupied part of the partially completed upper deck. They kept people one section from the incomplete part. Pretty wierd. Looked like you could just fall off the end.

1975, Texas @A&M. A&M won 20-10. First time they had beaten UT since 1967.
Earl campbell was soph for UT, Marty Akins QB.
Ed Simonini was linebacker for a great A&M defense. Plano's Pat Thomas who starred for many years with Rams was cornerback.
A&M was unbeaten, and had shot at national title till they got hammered by Arkansas in last reg season game in early December. Then got beat by USC in I think it was the Liberty Bowl.

Texas vs Arkansas in 1966. I had a good friend who had something come up so his brother and father invited me to go with them. This was my senior year in high school and they knew I was a UT fan. This was a year when both teams had an off year which was rare in the 60s. Arkansas won 12 to 7. Both teams were fumbling the ball back and forth and missed scoring chances in a sloppy game but it was still a thrill to be at a big time game that was televised.

Texas lost to Texas Tech 19-13

Much heralded QB Bill Bradley was starter, and few weeks later duties move to James Street.

Phil C

I think it was 1968 when Texas finally moved Street to quarterback. Bill Bradley was quarterback at UT in 1967. He threw an insterception to Freer's Buster Adamie who was playing for the Aggies that year and enabled the Aggies to beat UT 10 to 7. When Street took over at QB Bradley was tried at end and later at defensive back where he belonged. Bill Bradley was a great football player but his position should have been defensive halfback instead of quarterback. He had a great pro career at Philadelphia as a defensive halfback.

The Bill Bradley that played for Texas is at Baylor. He is not the famous Knicks basketball player. The one that played for the New York Knicks (who was a great player) is a US Senator but he was born in Missouri and played basketball for Princeton University.
