How does columbias defense look

Barbers Hill will be ready to play in tough game.
Barbers Hill - 31
Columbia - 24

Looking at stats it seems like Columbia has a good rushing defense. When Lamar Consolidated beat them they gave up alot of passing yards. So it looks like Chris is going to have a good game if BH wants to continue their win streak.

neck_06
09-17-2005, 10:41 AM
West Columbia's offense is averaging 400+ yards of offense and 36 points per game

Defense has only had one bad game against Lamar Cons.

Looks to be a good match-up

This ought to be a great game. I plan on going to it myself. Dont know much about Columbia but the Hill looks dominating so far this year so Im going with Barbers Hill in a high scoring game. 34-30. Maybe even overtime?

neck_06

it should have went into overtime last year, Barbers Hill guy caught a Hail Mary with no time left to win it

I sure as heck hope so, as we need him at QB to win this game. Ya'll got lucky last year as a broken ankle kept him out of the game last year, and ya'll are really lucky this year as Fields will be held out till district to heal a slightly dislocated shoulder. You may remember him as the WR that ate ya'lls lunch all game long last year. His loss hasn't slowed our offense down as much as penalties have, but I'd feel alot better about this game if he was out there...
How are those Patton twins lookin' this year?

wow, didn't know he was the QB, good luck!!!! Twins are looking good, lots of speed. One plays offense, one defense, but I don't know which one is which!!!!

Reason I ask is a) I remember them from last year, And b) we have our own set of twins this year in Jason & Justin Scott. Its kinda cool when they both go back to field punts.
I also noticed something odd about our roster. Check this out:
We have:
4 Scotts
2 Baughs
2 Edwards
2 Woodards
2 Smiths
2 Lackeys
2 Landrys
& 2 Vernors ( 1 player- 1 coach)

We could field an entire team with only shared last names!

shellman54

That reminds me of Goodrich's basketball team a few years back when they played at the Gulf Coast Classic. Everyone on the team shared their last name with at least one other player.

hate to hijack the thread but I have to mention a kennard girls varisty team I saw one year that was highly rated. 4 of the starters were kin with same last name.

Well I don't know what to think about this game. I received some bad news today that would put a grin on the Roughnecks faces if they knew. For now its just a rumor and I would like to get it confirmed before posting it. But if its true BH will have a tough time winning this one. If its not true then I pick BH by 10.

Stay tuned, and if anyone that knows what I'm talking about please PM me.

The back up for that player is also a senior who had a little trouble with the snaps but is more than capable to fill that spot if it comes to that.

I am not so sure those snaps were his fault.......that center was all over the place.

This game has a lot of "ifs". Rita might wash this game out or make it a wet muddy game. Anything can happen in that kind of weather. If our QB is hurt I would have to pick Columbia (I think it will take a backup more than a week to beat a good team). Regardless, It should make for an interesting week. I would sure hate to see the Hill's season hampered by injuries again. They deserve better than that.

Unfortunately, I don't think Jody is very close to the athletic department. He is just a fan who likes to stir the pot with other teams or within the system itself. In other words, he doesn't know crap.

It seemed like he had a limp when I saw him at Gator Fest but he told me it wasn't bad. He is one tough kid but he might want to sit if it is bothering him. I don't want to see him go down and out for most of the year.

Well folks the cat is out of the bag, I just read on the Eagle sports report that Chris Daniels tore his ACL and is having surgery this week. Chris will be out for the rest of the year. This is a big blow for the Eagles , but not as much as a blow to Chris. Chris I hope every thing works out and thank you for the last couple of years it was a pleasure watching you.

Yes he is a Senior and probably everyone's preseason pick to be district MVP. Tough loss and best wishes to Chris. Hope you can rebound and still get a chance at college ball.

BlueBlood
09-20-2005, 09:17 AM
Chris going down is just a terrible thing to happen to this team. They lost about 8 starters last year. I hope you guys can rebound from this. I would guess that Chris will miss all of basketball as well.

RBARKER
09-20-2005, 09:40 AM
It will be tough for BH to over come Chris. Chris after 4 games had 300 yds rushing 4 td's and 750 yds pasing for 9 td's. There is no telling how far this Eagle team could have gone this year. Patrick Cook or Mason Fisher could be taking the snaps now. Patrick looked good against Diboll, but how will he look under the pressure of a good WC defense. Only time will tell. Either way I'm 100% behind the eagles and will keep Chris in my prayers.

Rainman
09-20-2005, 10:26 AM
Patrick looked very good against Diboll and is the best choice for replacing Chris.
Mason is a great kid and making a very good showing at wide reciever, where he needs to stay for the better of the team.
He feels more comfortable out there and the team really needs multiple threats on the outside which Mason gives the team.
With a week of practice Cook will be ready to play and Barbers Hill will win.

How did it happen?

Despite all the bashing we've taken from BH folks, I have nothing against the school - certainly not the players. This sucks no matter how you slice it.

EAGLETOWN
09-20-2005, 10:50 AM
Early in the pre-season when I watched him I thought Pat looked good and felt we had a quality back up.

He played well against Diboll.

He throws well and has the possibility of being a good runner.

He is quick, and shifty, and by the way he plays defense he is not afraid to lower his sholder.

Unlike past years this team is not built around one player.

There still is a lot of talent on this team the same players that opened everything up for Chris will do the same for Pat.

In my opinion he is a sleeper and has a lot of potential.

I think when he gets a little time behind center we will be alright.

Pat is a good player and a little faster then chris. I would not count us out of this one yet. Or out of district after this game he has two weeks to prepare for our first district game. Our offense is strong and defense is stronger. I dont think losing one player even thought it is Chris well affect our team. Because we are a team and one player dont make a TEAM!

Yah but going through our offnese it takes awhile for a QB to get it. Chris wasn't perfect in our offense and had been running it for three years. Pat is a great athlete but this hurts the team in many more aspects. Since Pat moves to Qb that means someone else has to move to his spot. Lets just hope both those players step up. Chris is one of the best kids you can meet and im sure he will get his shot in college.

Ok boys, West Columbia has cancelled school for Wed Thurs Fri.

Subsequently, the game has also been called. I heard both coaches want to play the game and may be re-scheduled mid week next week. Both Schools are open next week, so the possibility does exists.
I think it will depend on the Sups at both schools whether the game is going to be rescheduled.

But it does look like at this time...Rita - 7 BH/WC - 0
