They are probably heads and shoulders the best team in 2a. They were state finalists last year and returned most everyone. Especially their good RB. They are a good, fast team.

The good news for Jasper is that those things can be corrected. I'm not giving up on the Dogs until the final down of the final game. :)

Yeah, things are looking ugly right now. But this team is still loaded with speed and talent. One, obviously, they have to cut out the turnovers. Two, they have to get everyone healthy at the same time. Spoon was back tonight, but the big, fast DE Spikes was out with a what I hope is a minor injury. :(

Well things should be easier next week when BC comes to town. ;) Just joking BC fans! :p That will be once again a very tough game for Jasper.

Hey, you guys could be 0-for, and I'd never count you out! I expect a true knock-down brawl next week, and still think it's going to be close game ( I HOPE!), and wouldn't settle for any less.

How do I get to the stadium? (don't stear me wrong! I wouldn't know any different, and I'd have to explain that "I know where we are - I don't need to stop for directions" thing to my wife!):D

That is a good question. Just ask GS 17! :D

One way, just drive north into Jasper on Hwy 96. Turn left on Houston street and drive until you can see the stadium lights on the right. Then hunt for a parking place. :p

Well....from the defensive standpoint.....the coaches pointed out our mistakes, even though they didnt need to. We knew what we did wrong. The coaches had a plan and has us lined up right. In fact, coach barbey(sp?) told our coaches after the game that was the best game plan he had seen in his 30 odd years of coaching. We (as players) dropped the ball.

Offense is the same thing. We dont turn the ball over, we win the game. Simple as that. There were 3 different plays on 3 different possesions that had we caught the football, it was a TD. Which would have won the game

The game was a game of missed chances on our part. On the defensive side, coaches keep telling us we have have the potential to have the best defense we've ever had. And that last night, the lightbulb showed signs of coming on. There were at least 3 of newtons possesions they went 3 and out with loss of yards after loss of yards after loss of yards. And when that lightbulb finally comes on.....lol.....i feel sorry for the people who have to line up against us.

No shame in losing to Newton. They deserved the win because they played better football. I am hoping we can put a complete game together this week. When everything starts clicking like we are capable of doing with the group on the field then we will be a tough team to beat. Looks like we still have a lot of work to do to get to that point, but that is why we have predistrict games.
