What is the difference between the Harris poll and the Tx HS Football website poll? How are the rankings so different?

I'll admit, Jasper's not playing to their potential. But I believe they'll pull themselves up and out of the hole. You always seem to be down on the Dawgs. Who's side are you on, anyway??? Gotta have some faith, man.

That being the case, guess Mr. Harris knows nothing about Bay City, Nederland, and Jasper this year........ Wonder if he knows who Newton is?

who was the contender and who was the pretender when we played WOS?

I would hope that both teams were contenders. I'd say that this week will be no different.

This actually should be a war with two good teams on the field.

That's a lot easier in an eight team district. Look at overall average per team.

I can't remember a year when those fighting Red Ants didn't bring up the rear.

24-3A will be tough this year. WOS will go D1 while BC and HJ will go D2. I think all three will advance deep. I don't think WOS will get surprised this year and BC seems to be strong in D2

I think fury900 is on the right track for comparison. Several threads have wondered "Which is the strongest district?" "Which is the weakest district?" By getting an average # per team in your district as fury900 has done is one way to compare.

And yes, I know it is subjective. Yes, I know games are played on the field and not on this message board. Nevertheless, for you stat nerds like me, give us the average strength per team of your district as per Harris Ratings.
