In a large majority of years teams that have lost their first game of the season do not win the super bowl. It must be pointed out that sometimes there have been exceptions. However based on this assumption the following teams are eliminated from winning the next super bowl.

Oakland
Minnesota
New York Jets
Houston
Carolina
Cleveland
Tennessee
Seattle
Denver
Chicago
San Diego
Green Bay
Arizona
St. Louis
Baltimore
Phildelphia

Good news is that the Dallas Cowboys are in the hunt by winning! :) The bad news is that Houston is eliminated in the hunt. :(

Of course this is assuming that this is not one of the exceptional years.

I know what you mean AggieJohn! :) It feels wierd eliminating Philadelphia this early but that is just based on history and there have been exceptions and this this may be one of those years. I think when the Patriots won their first super bowl that they lost their first regular season game as have others.

Cinncinatti Bengals will win it all this year just because they won their first game

No, Houston won't win it this year because they suck. At least their offensive line does. Seriously. Only 120 yards of TOTAL OFFENSE.

I got it 11 and edited it. You were absolutely right. I overlooked Carolina getting beat by New Orleans. Good observation 11 and thank you.

How could I have forgotten Dallas second super bowl winners under Coach Jimmy Johnson. Dallas started off that year at 0 - 2 mainly because of the holdout of Emmitt Smith. I think that was the only team in history to start out at 0 - 2 and end up winning the super bowl.
