are waco connally and yoe in the same district?

Matthew328
09-11-2005, 10:16 AM
No Connally is in 17-3A.....Yoe is in 19-3A.........lost aussie I still think you are underestimating those Brownsboro Bears!! Yes they'll go 5-0.....I dunno how they'll do against Canton..but other than that I dunno.....talked to someone who has seen both Browsboro and Van play and they said that Brownsboro is every bit as good if not better than Van......Lindale doesn't look too good and Chapel Hill is dangerous with their athleticism but I think Brownsboro should make the playoffs!! They are the best team in Henderson County! Which isn't saying much....LOL

Poll looks good, but I can tell you right now, that team from Sweetwater is better then the #13 ranking. Saw them play last year in the playoffs, and they were good. Supposed to be better this year, and by the looks of the whoopins they been puttin on, they probably are.

lindale is a pretty good team. came into gilmer with a very good plan and gave us a whale of a game. final score was not indicative of the actual game. i personally think brownsboro loses to canton, lindale, chapel hill, and van. but thats why they play the game.

Right now a strong case can be made for thr 12 teams ahead of the Mustangs as well....

1.Cuero: state runner up enough said..
2. Gainesville: maybe the most talented team in the state, dismantled a pretty good Decatur team last week
3. West Orange-Stark: could have the state's top player in Beasley and they have won 3 games over 3 QUALITY opponents
4. Abilene Wylie: defending state champs have been impressive...can't wait to see what they do agianst Snyder and Sweetwater
5. Gilmer: the defending D2 state champs are getting better every week
6. Snyder: they have been impressive and beat Sweetwater last time they played....
7. Waco Connally: the Cadets were 9-4 last year before falling to Palestine, they look to be even better this year....they have a HUGE matchup with Marlin in 2 weeks
8. Sinton: the Pirates are off to a good start after knocking off a pretty good 4A squad in Gregory-Portland 2 weeks ago, they were 10-3 last year before the loss to Cuero and they look to be even better this year!
9. Cameron Yoe: the Yoemen have been solid they were 11-2 last year before getting beat by state runner up Jasper...they returned a lot of talent including a good QB...Yoe already has an impressive win over Bellville...
10. Wimberley: the Texans are no longer a reg 4 sleeper...they are for real nice win over Iowa Park last week
11. Barbers Hill: their QB has put up big #'s.....I'm not totally sold on them yet....I could see the Mustangs leapfrogging them next week, but hey they are 3-0 with 2 wins over 4A schools...
12. Dallas Madison: one of the most scary teams in Reg 2....tough losing their D-1 LB against S Oak Cliff in week 0....they have the 3A D-1 200 m state champ in their backfield and they have a great D-lineman who just causes havoc for opposing offenses...they take on defending 4A state runner up Dallas Lincoln this week on Saturday if you are in Dallas you need to make this one!!!!!!!

So as you can see after #5 good cases can be made for all these teams..its still early though so Sweetwater will likely move up!

Dallas Madison doesn't have the 200 meter state champ in their backfield. Cuero has him at wide receiver. Brandon James.

and sweetwater has 2 memebers of the mile relay team in theirs...one who got 2nd in the state thru all classifications in the 100m...(but u dont see us up there in the ranks lol)

the other went to a UT football camp and i do believe had like the fastest time in some running thing they had, VERY fast backfield

Yah, it's good having those fast guys back...

Senior Brandon James will be huge... Junior Fabian Olguin is gunna do well this year and next year at TB, and sophmore Stefon Hargrove is a quick guy to have as a defensive end and is a powerful FB... hope they repeat this year in track, they make an awesome relay team...

but i think cuero will bust out w/ somebody next year...Brandon James has a pretty good size pair of cleats/spikes to fill:D

West Columbia is a VERY good team and I think better than the credit given here. I am a BH fan, but I can't argue against them being ranked higher. They were barely beat by a VERY good 4-A school in Lamar Consolidated.

Bay City absolutely stinks this year and does not give much credit to the WOS win. Nederland is even worse this year, so they can't take that credit either. As for Jasper, they are having their own woes, so WOS ca't say much for them as well. That is a 3-0 record that does not show much. Watch a 2-A Newton beat them in a few weeks. WOS is too small to compete and will be out fo the playoffs in 1st round. Possibly a Huffman repeat

From the looks of things, what you would think would be a tough schedule should now be a cake walk for Jasper. They should go undefeated in district, with the exception that Bridge City may give them a run.

Kirbyville and Silsbee are not very good this year.

You're right. Madison does not have the 200m champ on their roster. They do however have RB Shawnbrey McNeil on the team who won the 100m at the state meet this past spring as a sophomore.

Just curious... How close do you think Bridge City will play Jasper in district this year, J? Do you think BC will pull the upset and beat Jasper to claim a district championship, or do you think Jasper will be able to hold them off?

Personally, I'd be very surprised if they did. First, I don't think they would beat Jasper. Second, I don't think the UIL is going to do a mid-year re-alignment...

BC is doing very well this year and has beat some teams that historically have been good teams. From the looks of things, there is a BIG swing in 4-A and 3-A football in the Golden Triangle/East Texas area. At this point it is hard for me not to pick WOS, but BC may very well end up winning that district.

It was a great game that went down to the wire, two great teams. no doubt! But yard for yard? No need to stretch the truth when you have a good team.
Rushing
Wharton 35/118 yds
Cuero 37/193 yds

Passing
Wharton 9/14 128 yds
Cuero 15/22 189 yds

Total
Wharton 246
Cuero 382

Not taking anything away from Wharton - great game!
