Threw some pretty passes in stride to the Sinton receivers. Now if we can just put the running game and passing game together we will be clicking on all cylinders. Coming together about the right time. Cuero and district just around the corner. Have to get after Sosa and Beeville next week though.

I don't think Beeville will be a problem. Are you guys on the road next week?

Pirates go to air in win over Bears
Ramirez passes for 270 yards and four TDs

By From staff reports
September 10, 2005

Sinton can win games in any number of ways.

A week after pummeling Gregory-Portland with their defense, the Pirates proved they can win through the air as well.

Sinton's Daniel Ramirez passed for 270 yards and four touchdowns as the Pirates went on the road and trounced West Oso 50-7 Friday.

Ramirez connected with six different receivers, led by Isaac Rendon's four catches for 97 yards.

Sinton (3-0) started the scoring when Ramirez hit Zach Collins for a 12-yard touchdown.

West Oso (1-2) answered quickly when A.J. Lemos ran 35 yards for the game-tying touchdown.

That was about the last highlight for the Bears as Sinton ran off 43 unanswered points, including 19 in the second quarter alone.

Ramirez started the quarter with a 2-yard run for a score. He then hit Stephen Burk for a 59-yard touchdown pass and Robert Dunlap for a 25-yard pass, giving Sinton a 32-7 halftime lead.

In the second half, Ramirez ran and threw for another score. Sinton's Amdon Castillo added a fourth-quarter touchdown rush to complete the scoring.

The Pirates rushed for 107 yards, led by Burk, who got all 57 of his yards on one carry.

Lemos led West Oso with 57 yards on 12 carries.

INDIVIDUAL STATISTICS

RUSHING - Sinton, Stephen Burk 1-57, Josh Reed 8-17, Daniel Ramirez 11-3, Amdon Castillo 5-13, Cruz Aranda 2-6, Daniel Arredondo 2-1. West Oso, A.J. Lemos 12-57, Constantino Vera 3-10, P.J. Lopez 5-6, Oscar Torres 1-3, William Thomas 1-2, Gerald Lewis 1-(-)3.

PASSING - Sinton, Daniel Ramirez 11-22-0, 270 yards. West Oso, P.J. Lopez 7-19-2, 72 yards; Oscar Torres 0-2-0.

RECEIVING - Sinton, Isaac Rendon 4-97, Stephen Burk 2-78, Robert Dunlap 1-51, Zach Collins 2-20, Cruz Aranda 1-15, Freddie Mungia 1-9. West Oso, Lino Lopez 2-29, Jerald Harper 1-15, Eric Torres 1-14, A.J. Lemos 2-7, Aarou Boyd 1-7.

I don't remember Burk running for 57 yards. I think that was #35 Cruz Aranda. Can someone confirm?

I was there but I'm pretty sure it was Aranda, and it was 44 wasn't it.

You are correct, p4s, however, Burk did have one nice return for about that much, and yes it was 44-7, not 50-7. However it could have been if Mitchell had elected to put the starters back in after the interception. He didn't. The second team defense picked it off, and he left the second team offense in to give them a chance to score. I personally like that about him.

Well, now my wife says he did have a long rush. She says it was on the play after Collins got hurt. I guess I must have missed that one. I didn't see Collins get hurt either.

I was listening to it on the radio and I thought someone had a 59 yard catch. Hard to see the numbers though. lol

I get to make the Beeville game next week. The wife and I get to go out with the grown ups and leave the kids at home.

Can anyone say ROAD TRIP!

it was a shovel pass to burk not a run, but now im getting confuse also who score the tds :D , WO kept bringing them down just before they got in. Did we make any of our extra points ? thats one area that needs to be work out quick.

Since when did we get a running back by the name of Josh Reed?? I guess they mean RING! CC paper don't even read their articles, because if they would add up the touchdowns in tne article they would know the score was only 44-7. The team has to have somebody that can kick the ball through the posts. Why can't Daniel Ramirez,Collins or one of the other athletes try it. We will need the points at a critical point in a game before long.

Sinton plays Beeville in Beeville next week and will end us having to play three out of the first four games on the road. The good thing is that after Beeville we will have four out of six at home. :)

It would be nice if they would compel EVERYONE on the team to attempt the kicking game, and then pick the best one. I know they've asked, but no one wants to. The kid that is kicking is the only one that agreed to try.

This will HURT us!! :o :weeping:

It could be critical pirate especially in close games. Hopefully it will get worked out. Another solution will be what a lot of smaller 1A schools do when they don't have a kicker. Go for two points every time after a td.

yea, we will need all the points we can get, but its not a must win game like in the playoffs, so hopefully that part of the game is improved come playoffs.
