WOW! What a great game! This is easily the best team SH has had in several years. It was a great matchup...size and speed vs. a very disciplined team with a strong running attack. I don't know the official numbers, but Mickey Norris must have had 160 yards or better.

It was 35-35 at the end of regulation and after Kennedale scored on its first OT possession, SH scored and elected to go for the 2-point conversion win (they almost got it, too).

This game had it all. Kennedale had all they could handle from the Fort Worth South Hills Scorpions. At one point with 6:30 to go in the 2nd period, Kennedale was down 21-7 but took advantage of SH turnovers. One of Mickie Norris's long runs was 74 yards to make the game 21-14 in favor of South Hills and then with 2:25 left in the first half, Kennedale intercepted and tied the game with 40 seconds left to make it 21-21 at the half.
I thought SH was well coached and they had an excellent QB and RB. Their QB has a good arm except he forced the ball into coverage too many times. I would have done the same thing in going for 2 points and the win because the QB was having his way with our defense. Howver, I've seen Kennedale rise to the occasssion many times and tonight was another great example.

Bridgeport is on our schedule later and I just heard they lost to Argyle in a close one. There is a game to look forward to.

Good summary bleedgreen! That South Hills RB was QUICK! In the first half, I was really afraid it might be a long night for the Wildcats. They sure came through, though!

Looking forward to Everman traveling to Kennedale in a couple of weeks!!!! EHS-KHS could turn into one of the better rivalries in the area!!

Matthew, I don't know if the talent pool is as deep as it was 2-3 years ago. Well see.

I'm not sure the rivalry will maintain its momentum for long since Everman has moved up to 4A anyway. A rivalry is always a rivalry, but a district title is another thing altogether.

I sure grossly underestimated Mickey Norris' rushing effort. According to the box score he had 278!

I'd be willing to bet Kennedale stands a good chance at moving up to 4A.....2 years ago Kennedale had an ADM of 843...the way Kennedale has grown I'd say they are probably close to 900.....just a guess and if they go they'll be in the same district as EHS...and even if they don't I imagine they'll still play
