COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- TCU quarterback Tye Gunn has been named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's 17-10 win at Oklahoma.
A senior from LaGrange, Texas, Gunn completed 24-of-45 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown. His 16-yard scoring pass to Derek Moore with 10:05 left in the first half put TCU on top 7-0.
Gunn's 41-yard completion to Lonta Hobbs set up a 25-yard Peter LoCoco field goal to give the Horned Frogs a 10-0 lead with 7:16 remaining in the second quarter.
Gunn's .846 winning percentage (11-2) as a starter is second among active college quarterbacks, trailing only USC's Matt Leinart (.963, 26-1). Gunn is TCU's career leader in completion percentage at 57.7 (213-of-369).
