It's true. Corpus at Buc Stadium, Friday at 3.

The common sense "neutral" site would have been San Antonio. Sinton officials apparently aren't big believers in common sense. But Sinton won the toss, and so, on the day after Thanksgiving, while A&M and Texas are playing, the Burnet fans will have to pass by Sinton on their way to play Sinton in Corpus.

The Burnet people are not amused. A nuetral site should have been selected, and it should have been in San Antonio. Sinton should be very happy about it's convenient travel arrangements, and they should also expect to see a Burnet team that will be much sharper and much angrier than the one that beat Wharton.

Our charter just got back from Victoria. We had to load and leave as soon as the game was over. We had two calls from people on the way back, both said the same thing, Buchaneer Stadium, Corpus Christi, 3:00PM Friday. If it is different I'll won't know untill tomorrow.
Regards,
GreatBigBurnetFan
Can somebody tell me where the stadium is. I think we will not take the charter and stay over
for some sightseeing.

Trust me, it is 3pm Friday at Buccaneer Stadium in Corpus Christi. Sinton's team may not have been informed yet, the coaches were all at the game in Victoria. We have confirmation from a Sinton coach and a highly placed school official.

Get over it. Last year did you hear any of the Sinton posters complain about the "nuetral" location in San Marcus? That was over four hours for most Sinton folk.

OK, let's clear this up. It will be in Corpus Christi at Buc Stadium on Friday at 3pm. So if you've got a player telling you otherwise, he needs to go back and talk to his coach because he's got it wrong.

Last Year Burnet won the toss and chose San Marcos which is much closer to Burnet than Sinton. This year it was Sinton's option. I am sure they would have chosen Victoria but the stadium may not have been available. Besides there are other things you can do in Corpus Christi after the game. Next year if the teams meet watch for it to be back in San Marcos. It would have been better to have found a half-way neutral site but that is the school administrations' decision. I am assuming it is in Corpus Christi even though the local stations had different time and place.

(1)Burnet only won the toss last year as far as who would wear the home/away uniforms; San Marcos was mutually agreed upon by both schools.

(2)This year, the 2 schools could not agree on a neutral site. For whatever reason, Sinton officials were unimpressed by the convenient existence of a major metropolitan area of several million people and several quality stadiums roughly half-way between the two schools. We could have had a stadium half-way in between that would seat both school's large followings easily.

(3)San Marcos is not "over 4" hrs away from Sinton unless you're jogging. If you didn't like it, blame the Sinton officials, because they were a partner in that agreement.

(4)I have a feeling Burnet will "get over it" next Friday afternoon.

"Next year if the teams meet watch for it to be back in San Marcos." --PhilC

Burnet might go 4A and if so then it's a moot point. If not, and if the teams do meet again, then it will be Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.

"It would have been better to have found a half-way neutral site but that is the school administrations' decision." --PhilC

You're right that it is the administrator's decision. In this case he (the Sinton Spt.) made the wrong choice.

If so, then this would be a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive for Sinton fans...and then we would be the ones b*tching! eek! :o

The Sinton Spt. made this bed, and if the 2 teams meet next year Sinton fans will have to lie in it.

Burnet wanted San Antonio as a neutral site, which was the common sense thing to do, the right thing to do, for everyone involved on the day after Thanksgiving. Sinton wouldn't do it. They selected Corpus as home-neutral, so Burnet reciprocated with Waco.
