What would you like to see as the name of the Saints if they make a permanent move to San Antonio???

I think the San Antonio Assault would make a cool name.

The San Antonio Siege, as it will no doubt be somehow connected to the events that took place at the Alamo.

HaHaHaHa....... Not sure how the NFL would like the Mushrooms in there. Maybe they should change the name to the Jerry Garcia's, play only Greatful Dead music, and invite all the hippies to unite for season tickets. They could build a commune right there in the parking lot even.

The team won't stay in San Antonio, it isn't a big enough market, and we all know that if you don't have the money, you don't have anything. If the Saints move, it will be to Los Angeles.

They really have no choice now. Benson was wanting to get a new stadium or move anyways. At this point a new stadium or even upgrading the superdome is such a low priority. NO is just trying to get the basic infrastructure going which could take 6 months to a year. The Saints would be pushing it to be able to play there in 2006. I believe we might have seen the last of the Saints playing home in NO. Plus with all of the folks displaced, the population of NO is surely to take a tumble.

That leaves SA or LA for the Saints. LA turned down a team that became the TEXANS. Would they reconsider now? SA would have to renovate the Alamodome to some degree since it has few luxury boxes which seem to be the current rage. If marketed right, towards the hispanic population, I could see a huge fanbase especially from folks south of the border.

San Antonio Diablos:devil:

I've heard how San Antonio isn't a big enough market. City wise it is larger than than 4/5 of all other NFL cities. San Antonio is now the 8th largest city in the nation. If you combine the areas of Austin and Corpus Christi with SA I think there is a larger than average NFL market. I've heard this many times but don't buy it.

Besides Tom Benson, who owns the team lives in SA.

why not the San Antonio Tornados? Granted it's a little jacked up considering the hurricane but all of our major mascots are "Texas" related. Cowboys, spurs, longhorns, Texans, rangers....what else could we say? The San Antonio Bluebonnets? Or maybe Armadillos? Mocking Birds? lol....
