A Senator from LA was quoted as saying Benson wanted to move the NFL team permanently to San Antonio(reported by WOAI radio). He didn't want to make it official until all the recovery efforts are finished.

I bet Jerry Jones will have something to say about this. He might not want another NFL team in the state. He is afraid of all the SA dollars going to the Saints.
I love the Cowboys but think the Saints will flourish in the 8th largest city in the nation.

Im for it only thing it will kill the Cowboys coverage on TV for those who dont atttend NFL Games.If that happens im sure wont be in SA on a sunday they both play, Im a Cowboy Fans first, Then a Texas Team second! A name if it does happen one that has been used before Gunslingers or something like there old name from Saints to Missionaries

I would like to see this happen. NFL should tell the folks in New Orleans to build a new facility as a centerpiece for their restoration efforts and grant them an expansion team to start play upon completion of this new facility. New team could be named the New Orleans Phoenix as a symbol of the city rising from the ashes of this disaster. Or better yet, promise to move the Phoenix Cardinals so they can keep part of their name haha.

I heard something on the radio this morning that indicated that the SuperDome might have to be torn down due to damage received. I was half listening, so I didn't hear it all. But I got the impression that the damage they were referring to was the damage sustained inside the dome after the storm. :eek:
