Thanks, Matthew, for the idea. With so few Region II posters, it was difficult to come up with one before district play begins.

With the loss of Wilmer-Hutchins, Madison should make a run for the District 10 title.

Crandall, with one of our very own on the sidelines, is coming off a close game with Kennedale.

This is going to be a tough one for the Trojans. Last year they barely escaped with a 22-20 win at Crandall. I will be interested to see how Crandall's offense looks against Madison's D. Madison's defense has given up just 208 yards total through 2 games and has forced 9 TO's. I really hope they aren't looking past the Pirates to next week and the South Dallas Super Bowl against Lincoln. They really need to go into that game with a lot of momentum and a win against Crandall would help that out a lot. This game probably will be fairly close I think because Davidson is still trying to learn some of the intracacies of being a QB. He took a big step forward last week and he needs to do the same this week.

I haven't seen Madison yet this year, but if they are really as good as some seem to think, I'm afraid Crandall will have a long night. I had such high hopes of seeing a barn-burner after hearing about Crandall's new offense, but if Kennedale's secondary had decent hands they would have intercepted Crandall at least 4-5 times. As it was, an incorrect interception-of-bounds call in the end-zone gave Crandall a second attempt on which they scored one of their touchdowns.

Maybe more importantly, if the Crandall players don't manage to conduct themselves better when the other team does something good, the penalties alone will kill them. Not to be down on the boys from Crandall, they showed some good quickness and played pretty good defense. I'm just not sure they have the ability to match up against Madison if they are even better than last year.

It would be nice to see Crandall win it though!

Just saw the final on this one:

Madison 32, Crandall 11

The difference tonight was speed, plain and simple. The officiating helped keep Crandall around in this one, but there just wasn't an answer for McNeil when he hit the corner. He just has that other gear when he hits the corner that you'd expect from a guy with his speed. That 65 yard TD run might be the best TD he's had as a Trojan.

Crandall more/less gave up trying to throw the ball and went to the ground game which was effective. The QB had some nice runs and they did a good job running right at Madison's DE after he got hurt in the 1st half. I think Crandall's QB wound up completing 9-31. I can see where he'll be successful though down the line. His WR's just couldn't match up speed-wise with Madison's secondary and that kinda hurt their passing game I think.
