The O put up 460 yards (260 in the first half) and the D held the mattadors to 29 yards of total O. The one TD Lubbock scored came on a returned Kick off.

Did anyone who saw the game take note of the soph. running back, Will Clay, who was moved up from JV this week? Don't know what the roster has him listed at, but I'd put him at 6'1" and about 180. He seems to be a stronger runner than Wells and it looks to me like the JV has just lost their best back to the varsity.

In my humble opinion, he has the potential to be the next great back from Snyder. He needs experience, but he will have the speed, size, and moves. He he has had great outings during the JV scrimmages and against Levelland JV.

The game was another total beatdown from the defense, even without 3 key starters. I'm ready to see how we will perform against better opponents.

Alot of kids got to play last night. 3 sophs started for the D last night. Snyder was without two all State players from last year and still managed to hold Estacado to a total of 2 first downs and 44 total yards on the night. The D steped up last night against a Estacado team who put up over 350 yards and 32 pts on a fair Herford team the week before. Alot of Snyder backs had touches last night. I understand 4 backs had over 50 yards rushing and a couple more had over 25 yards rushing. Snyder Never punted and converted all but 1 4th down.

Yep, I believe they are related. Hayward may be his uncle or cousin or something. I'm sure many of the other snyder posters here know for sure.

How about Kyle Freeman played in the mid 80's went on to be a National Champion in Track & Field at Angelo. Was a Def End All American inducted into the lone star conferance hall of fame. Played longer in the pros then anyone from Snyder. Was 6'4 275 and ran 4.29. Has 3 kids in the Snyder School system now

He was No William Wallace. he was more like 6'2" 230

Is anyone else sick of every thread remotely relating to snyder or sweetwater devolving into a juvenile, verbal slugfest?

"Why can't we just all get along?"

I have lots of friends from sweetwater and we enjoy talking football. Our conversations never turn into the kind of junk I've been reading here. The rest of the readers here should know that most all of the folks and kids from Snyder have good friends in Sweetwater. Come on, there aren't enough of us folks living out here west of I-35 to be turning against each other.

For the record: Sweetwater, you have a great team and a great tradition. I can't wait until we play ya'll because I think it will be a great game between great teams and great young men who are well coached. Don't get me wrong, I hope we win, but like always it will probably be a knockdown-dragout with the team that gets a lucky break pulling it off (Yes, like we did in the regional game last year).

ur right, i have several friends from snyder, hec i hung w/ dee walker this past summer in sweetwater, i have 2 really good friends here at Angelo that i played football against from snyder...it just makes it funner to talk mess, Black Magic is good at bringin that outta other posters hehe, Black M is actually pretty cool whenever its not close to sweetwater or snyder games
