Will LA Players get to play in Texas??

I'm hearing about the kids that were evacuted from New Orleans are signning up at the schools in East Texas and the Houston area. Do Think the UIL will allow them to play football? If so there could be some good athletes coming into Texas.

I haven't heard about whether they will count for the schools numbers, but all students will be eligible for sub-varsity play immediately and varsity will have a twelve to fifteen day period while paperwork is sent to the district. This lag time is standard for all in state transfers to play at the varsity level.

Found out yesterday from the UIL that yes they will be counted. We'll see what numbers look like on OCT.31st when there're turned in.

From what I hear on the radio, this won't be a 6 month thing. These kids could be here for a couple of years or more. Plus, once these people move over here, find jobs, and settle in, what motivation would they have to uproot again and move back? Just a thought.......

I was told that Barbers Hill is enrolling kids as I type. Don't know if any are players or not.

This is just so crazy!! I still can not wrap my mind around the fact that this is happening in our neighboring states!! :( It is just so heartbreaking. My friend and I were just talking about where these kids would go to school? This is just so devasting!!
