i rem3ember when gas was 1.50 and people predicting it would double to $3.00 by now. i was one of the people who said "no way itll never happen" boy was i wrong. not many people have changed their driving habits either.

but what would happen if it doubled again. $6.00 for a gallon of gas. what would you do? sounds crazy now, but who knows. i thought $3.00 per gallon was crazy.

I'm having a hard enough time getting a good nights sleep right now paying about $3 a gallon. You are making my nights any easier 44.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a suped up golf cart. Something I can plug into the wall at night.

Sure, if you don't live in BFE and have to drive 12-13 miles to the grocery store and 37 miles to work. :( The one saving grace for us is that I telecommute and only have to make the drive to Austin one day a week. My husband drops stuff off for me one day, but if gas continues to rise, I'll try to make arrangements to discontinue that drive for him.

at least this should bring down the price of them some, because i'm sure the demand will start to get stronger

if demand rises, and supply is decreased which is sort of what is going on, cost increases...

I only live 2 miles from work, 3 miles from my best friend, 1.5 miles from some of my family and I try not to go to HEB, but if I need something Aaron could always hook me up!!! :D

China and India are using so much of the oil produced by OPEC that they have driven the price through the roof.

My husband and I looked into the possibilities of riding the bus. Yesterday, I didn't see a schedule that would work for me. I found one this morning, though - a 78 mile round trip for me to the office would become around 16.

Actually, gas has already been at or around these prices for a long time, just not in the United States. While stationed in England from 1983 to 1986, we received gas rations that allowed you to purchase gas on the base for about .80 to $1.00, these were suppose to last for six months. If you used up your rations, you could only buy gas off base for about $4.50 to $5.00. Many do not realize that we are actually protected here in the states. Travel to Canada and see what the prices are there today.
