I want to know what everyone thinks the toughest district in 3a football really is. I am gonna have to go with district 27, which includes Liberty Hill, Wimberly, Llano, Ingram, Brady, and Bandera. Two top 15 teams. Plus all but one(Brady) won their first games.

Gotta go with 19 and 30 off of the top of my head....

19 is going to be tough as always...

30 is always tough and should be this year as well...

27 is tough up at the very top...

I won't say who exactly is the 'toughest' because I just do not know, but these districts do stand out to me...

cant disagree with that, you look at the pre district records in those districts and you see almost all wins. wow, neither is an enviable district to be in.

1. District 7
2. District 30
3. District 18
4. District 24
5. District 4

18-3a was at one time.

Mexia showed some promise scoring this time against China Spring, both teams are rebuilidng and Mexia has their stud rb this year - rumor is he did not play last year because of the coach.

Groesbeck after a 0-9-1 season shut out Lorena. Not sure how good Lorena is this year, but that must have been a huge confidence builder for Groesbeck.

Fairfield had Cameron never an easy task and they face Connally and La Vega in the next three weeks.

I do not know anything about Livingston other than they are a 4A school, and I have not seen any recaps of the Madisonville game. A lot of football sites speak highly of Madisonville's quarterback.

Marlin is Marlin, after last week I look for improvement each week with Waco University next week, Bellville following, Lorena and then back to back Connally and Graham.

it would be hard for any team to be able to play sweetwater, snyder, or abilene wylie, then the next week or so play Sweetwater, snyder, or wylie.....if that doesnt make sense to you, im going to explain in to where it makes u look stupid so no smart@$$ remarks haha

district 4 is my pic...3 top 15 teams (thats about an average of all the polls ive seen...acually if i went by avg. i could say 3 top 10 teams)

District 4 has got to be up there. What about the district that Atlanta is in over in East Texas? Top to bottom aren't they pretty solid?

why was 32 talked about before 30?

The toughest district has to be District 30 as I have said in the past. Sinton is there. Then don't forget Mathis who is always tough. Remember they had powerful 2A Odem on the ropes last week before losing. Then you have Ingleside who has those outstanding fairly new dynamic young coaches who are bringing them along. Remember last week they whipped a good Bishop team who has had some powerful teams in the past. Then you have Goliad who is always tough. Remember they made the playoffs last year. And this year Aransas Pass will be tough with their dynamic new coach this year and Oh that QB is a threat anytime he has the ball. Plus last week they beat a good San Diego team in San Diego.

At one time this district (30) also had West Oso! The Howling Bear would have made it even tougher than it is now.

i agree with solid this dist. will be pretty tough this year and a battle will occur to see who makes it to the playoffs. Ya'll can laugh all you want when i say this but u just wont know till it happens..i see it as Jasper, Shepherd, and Silsbee...possibly shepherd 3rd but either way the point is Shepherd Pirates in the Playoffs.

District 19-3a is definately among the top 5, you have a 7 team district with at least 6 contenders for the district title coming into the season. Cameron, Caldwell, and Rockdale went to the playoffs last year but this year it could be those 3 teams or manor, hutto, giddings, or la grange. I know im leaving smithville out, but hey, in a couple of years, when the district is re-aligned...they could contend too...they are off to a good start and finally broke tha streak....in the past 2 years Manor, Caldwell, Cameron, and Rockdale have all broke the top 10...so it should be in all yalls top 5

hutex04
08-31-2005, 12:38 AM
19 3a is one of the top 3 at least. Hutto beat a 7-4 playoff 4a school 34-18 and still did not make the playoffs last year. That should tell you everything about district 19 3a. I have a feeling hutto will be left out again this year. Cameron, Giddings, Caldwell, Rockdale all very good teams. Manor is off to a good start with a win over del valle and Smithville finally won a game! Cant forget La Grange which wont be down for too long

17-3A is usually a pretty rough one. Last year it was as down as I've ever seen it and it's not back up to the level it was in the late 90's and '00 when Gatesville won a state title, but you have 5 of the teams in that district that will be playoff caliber teams by the end of the season.

At this point till we solidify our qb and get the younger players acclimated you both can have a playoff spot.

I would have to say you can never tell which district is the toughest. The only time you could tell would be at the end of the season. EVERY district is tough for every team in that district. Most districts have big time rivals with 2 or 3 teams in their district. These rivalry games are hard because they both come out playing like its is the state game and if they don't win this one then their season sucked. Now this is just my opinion.

have to be district 4
