Well it started with the two first teams with Bridge City with the ball--4 plays net 9 yards only(nil, Zero, Nada), between the tackles. Start over on the 30, BC goes to Newton's 10 with ease then misses 4th down. BC goes again from the 30 all the way for a TD with Johnny Dishon's 35 yarder, dancing through the Newton secondary.
Next Newton on offense stopped twice and then drive to the BC 31 and misses 4th down. At that point their 20 plays are also used up.
Second teams take the field--BC stopped twice and drives to the 20. Newton stopped and second drive stopped with fumble. Newton second team then scores a TD.
First units again take the field for 10 plays each: neither could score.

GAME SITUATION for two quarters.
1st quarter no scoring-- BC gets the closest but misses FG.
2nd quarter Newton scores THREE TDs two on BC fumbles in their own territory.
This was a typical scrimmage in that both Coaches were running a lot of players in to see what they could do under different situations.
In the JV game BC pretty well dominated which could be expected with Newton's low enrollment.
There was very good sportsmanship exhibited by both teams as with all previous BC/Newton encounters.
I think Newton deserves their #1 ranking. BC may surprise some folks this season.
