As stated in the Lufkin Daily News, Kirbyville 4 Lufkin Hudson 0. I was really rallying for the Lady Hornets but they couldn't pull it off. They had a great season!!

Kirbyville is still relying on the great bat and pitching skills of Holly Tankersley...She is the best graduating Senior in girls sports in Texas in my opinion. I hope Kirbyville goes all the way! ...It is hard to believe that a composite team of Select players from the greater Lufkin metroplex, were beat by a small enrollment town of indigeneous local players!

well believe it. a few dont win it for a team it takes the whole make up of the team. Sure they might be more talented but talent alone dont win GAMES!

Oh, I believe it Mr. Austin, They walked Holly Tankersley three intentional walks and she scored 3 times. It's kind of funny however: little, young, Hope Tankersley drove a single past first base; thus scoring Holly and another to put them up 2-0 early! It's kind of a family affair sometimes, in a little small town!
