The game is this Friday and should be a good one. It is in Taft and they are tough to beat on their home field and will be ready with their new dynamic coach. I still say we will be able to handle them and pull out the win.

I know they have had a long rivalry. The local newspaper comes out today and if they post prior year scores like they sometimes do I will post the scores year by year so we can have a record on 3A downlow.

Sinton in a landslide,I think it will get ugly quickly,backups should get plenty of action. Taft is ranked at 198th in 2-A.!!!!!

That's sad but I agree Sinton will win but I sure would like for Taft to put up a fight. They might surprise us all.......

I will say this. Sinton usually doesn't play well in Taft. But I still think they'll be able to put up at least 3 tds. D should get their 1st goose egg of the year.

Unfortunately, this time the Sinton paper didn't have the scores year by year and I was hoping to post them. This rivalry started in 1921 and Sinton holds a 48-32-4 edge.

You are right pirate4state. Taft beat Sinton three times in the 90s and one game was a tie. I don't have the scores by year though. I sure wish the paper would have published them so we could have it for the record.

lol i remember my freshman year which i think was last year for sinton in 4A and we had beaten Taft by more than 5 tds in 7th and 8th grade, and we go to taft my freshman year and get spank, was a ugly feeling losing to the then 3a Greyhounds. that was 1983. Sinton has gone into taft expecting to win big, theres been some occassions Taft didnt lay down and gave Sinton a game, BUT not this year Sinton by at least 50

Does anyone have a Sinton schedule handy?? I printed one earlier, but seemed to have misplaced it. Would appreciate a copy if anyone has one. Thanks.

I will revise my last post since 44's schedule looks better.


Sinton by 5 tds Taft scores once.

Taft used to beat Sinton pretty regularly many moons ago. Back when they had leather pads and no face guards.

I totally agree with you. Two years ago Sinton had a pretty stout team and the score was fairly close, 18-6. Sinton went 8-5 that year and Taft was 4-6.
Sinton by 14-21.

Since the game is in Taft it will be much closer and a harder fought game. Sinton by 35.

wow Phil u getting better to realize the pirates usually blow out a team they are suppose too. Before u would have said a score like 14-7. now u understanding the not so close games with ur prediction of 35-0. Watch out for the Huanting Pirate!!?(good?)

I think Sinton will do very well, but I also believe Taft will score one in this game.
